My license plate sticker expires in January and I just got the bill. They raised the price up to $100 this year. How rediculas is that? How much do you pay for your license plate sticker every year? Has it recently gone up?

Wow! $100, that is unimaginable to me. I couldn't ever pay that and I really think I would consider getting a bike...LOL. My stickers are only twenty-four dollars here. Where are you from? Tennessee here. Man that is crazy, Good luck with that and have a good day.

I think you will see it rise steadily because your gas guzzling car has to pay for these stupid government programs to save the earth so we can take more cars off the road and if you drive a car then you must be rich and you're going to pay for it one way or the other. Like my rant? I didn't use any commas. Honestly, I think the year of your car matters, if its older it shouldn't be as much.

I think the high price of ours has to do with years of our Illinois government mismanaging their funds and the fact they are in serious debt now, so who has to pay. We do!!! If my kids were not already established in school here I would move to Wisconsin.

I don't know if it went up or not as I just bought my current car a couple of months ago. However, the registration is due in January. I got the bill a few weeks back. I was expecting it to be around $80 at the most with it being an older vehicle and all, but it's $108. Sheesh, talk about highway robbery. But what can we do about it? My husband and I need a car to get around, so we have no choice but to pay it. Happy mylotting!

That happened to me too. It didn't go up by $100 but it might as well have (it went up $86). Last year I was paying close a bit over two hundred dollars but this year it went up to almost $300. My car is a newer one so I was expecting it to be a bit expensive but I was very shocked by how much it went up to when I got my bill a few months back. Pretty much anything dealing with the DMV has gone up in price. At least that's what I have noticed. I guess since the state I live in has so much debt they have to raise the price for just about everything.

We have been lucky enough to have the same price for the past few years. It is $70 dollars for our cars. That includes the convenience fee for buying it online. I hate going down and standing in that long time, so paying $3 for convenience seems well worth it to me. A few years ago, they were talking about it going up to $250 per car, but I think they realized nobody would be able to afford that!

In MI the cost of the sticker used to be based on your cars weight, now it's based on the year. I had to buy stickers for all 3 of our cars this week and it was 249.00. 110.00 for my 2008 71.00 for my sons 1998 and 68.00 for my husbands 1995. It's ridiculous.

I think I paid just under $100 this year. I used to live in another state and it was only 20 bucks every other year. I guess they felt guilty because insurance was outrageous in that state.
