Vijayanth, I'm not very good at relating Hindu myths, but I have heard of the story of Lord Ganesha and Lord Subramaniam having a tussle over who is smarter. Lord Ganesha just went round his parents, Shiva and Parvathy, while Lord Subramaniam went round the world in search of knowledge. Ultimately Lord Ganesha won the coveted prize from the Gods for his wisdom. Thus for me the world revolves around my parents first before I recognise and admire any celebrity or famed persons in any field. I admire MJ because of his love for children and the downtrodden and his great contribution to the world of pop Music, Mother Teresa, Albert Schwietzer, Florence Nightingale and others in the field of medicine for their courage and great service to mankind, Einstein, Newton, Pythagoras, Galileo and other great mathematicians and scientists for their brains, Freedom fighters like Churchill, Napolean, Alexander and other statesmen for bravery and fairplay, Rabindranath Tagore, Bertrand Russel, Socrates, Aristotle, Dewey and other philosophers for their immense contribution to education and the list goes on....

Hi vijayanths, I have this belief, nobody is 100 percent good. At the risk of sounding cynical I will add that doing good with the object of doing good and then getting good results also generates a good amount of ego, which becomes onerous for others to carry. I will cite an example. I know I will hurt many a sentiment here, but I will still cite it. You look at Mahatma Gandhi. He deprived himself a lot, and the credit for our independence goes to him. But in his personal life, he was rather rude with his better half. His children were not very close with him. A man who couldnt keep his children with him, was trying to evolve a formula to keep Hindu Muslim unity? Does it fit? Likewise, I do know of a BJP karyakarta whose son is a drunkard, but she has opinions about how others should behave. If she doesnt know how to bring up her own child, how can she really qualify to serve the nation? So for me familiarity breeds contempt. And I therefore admire people who are not so well known in life and people who cant be said to have contributed much to the society (they contributed by bringing up their children well instead of transforming them into ill behaved drunkards, or gamblers, or idlers). I admire people like my father who are well beyond 70s, and still have the zest for living, and help others with no desire for any fame, recognition, or political gain. Amongst the ladies in my life, I would say Talwar aunty, Singh Aunty, Shyam Sundari Aunty, and Chandramati Aunty deserve a mention. Amongst gents, I'd say Raghava Rao uncle, Talwar uncle, my father, Subba Rao uncle, M. Gopinath, and Srimmanarayana. They are people you dont really know so unless you come into contact with them, you cant really understand their value. This does not mean I dont appreciate the efforts of Mother Theresa, or Lady Diana. :) For me Ishwarchand Vidyasagarji would come in that category.

I admire some foreign celebrity like Jennifer Garner for being a hands on mother. She truly love her baby. I admire Hillary Duff because I like her voice. Eventhough Pink (the singer) is very weird I like her weirdness. I like also the voice of Westlife and Josh Groban. I admire Sandra Bullock and Kate Hudson, especially as an actress. In korean celebrity, I like Jang Keun Suk of course. Here, the people I admire here are my former supervisor who were a cancer survivor. I admire her strength. I admire my mother for being strong woman. I depend on her strength too. I admire my father when he was being a father, because sometimes he acts childish.

Hello dear brother, I admire a lot of people depending on their ability and qualities. I admire my mom for being so great and patient-her enduring love to us(her kids)her long suffering. Her obligation to us doesn't end till this time, thu she's miles away from us,the warmth of her love is still there. She knows very well if anyone among us(her kids)is having some problem or feeling ill.I admire her wholeness. I admire my spiritual leader, for teaching me God's words. And being the best example of God's teachings for showing us the kindness, and how to love others could it be an enemy. For being a follower first to our Lord rather than a leader to us. I admire Catherine Zeta-Jones for her beauty, very sweet and classic beauty. I admire Barry Manilow for his soulful voice, and being a good singer, compositor and musician. I admire a lot of artists..in every field, photography, painting, craft works...simple people who posses great pride of themselves and proud for being themselves. I admire people who had simple wishes, simple life yet happy and contented of what they had and what they have. The old people whose aged lines on their faces signifies how much they struggle life and how long their story goes.

I don't think I could ever give a full list of the people that I admisre only because I know that I could name people and then will think of others afterward. Of course there are the people closest to me that I admire like my husband, daughter, son, mother and then members that I have lost like my grandmother but there is always a few extras that I always seem to forget..I can't choose any celebrities right off hand that I can think of the I admire just because there are some that I like and appreciate things they have done with their life but it hasn't effected me directly so I can't say I admire them.
