shobhan51 responded to a discussion called Do you believe in intutions? in questions & answers.
Intuition???? What is it? Could we say 'Sixth sense'? If animals like dogs, cats and those in the wild have it, why not us? We are also part of the animal kingdom and probably endowed with it too. Mothers are those presumed to have an immense sixth sense guiding them in their protection of their children. This is evident in animals in the wild where the survival of the fittest is the rule.

Vijayanth, how in the world did you come to this? Imagine a world devoid of the circle of life.......Hmmm... We truly have to be in a mythological world where nothing is created nor destroyed. This can only be a paradise of eternal existence without birth, preservation and death. To me it could be a piece of art or craft where nothing changes. Don't you feel it could be a boring infinite world ...

shobhan51 responded to a discussion called Are you content with your present life? in life.
Contentment is a state of mind. Achievements are dependent on individual potential and abilities. Thus, a person is never contented until he/she has tapped his/her potential and abilities to the fullest, which is indirectly pointing towards his/her achievements. In other words, progress can never be slowed or accelerated when there are people around forever pushing themselves to their ultimate ...

shobhan51 responded to a discussion called Do you think you are blessed with a fairly good life? in life.

What is to be will be. What we call 'luck' or 'ill luck' cannot be experienced by another. Each of us have our good and bad times and thus we cannot envy or be jealous of another's good fortune. I think Vijayanth would agree with me on this point as he is well versed in astrology and predictions.

shobhan51 responded to a discussion called Where can you find true happiness? in life.
Happiness cannot be found outside oneself. Happiness is found within. Searching for happiness is a myth and if one tries to find it outside oneself or from the environment then one is searching for a unicorn. Though we are physically matter, we live in a virtual world. If we see and accept something as good, then it is good. But then, the same thing can be seen and accepted as bad by another, t...

shobhan51 responded to a discussion called How would define a good person?.
Vijayanth, is it only women who gossip? I read somewhere that men gossip more about women than women gossip about men. Do you know that Jesus, in all his virtues too got angry? Anger can be used in a positive way. It is a means to an end which can be positive. I feel a good man is one who walks the middle path to enlightenment. As Buddha said, 'A rope should not be too taut or too laxed.' The C...

shobhan51 responded to a discussion called Death: Sadness Now, Joy Later in religion.

1hopefulman, I am no authority in this philosophy, therefore, I'm unable to hold a discussion on death and life thereafter. But, I do agree with you that death is a deliverance from the world of sorrow and suffering. Therefore, one should not cry for a soul that is leaving this world.

shobhan51 responded to a discussion called Do you listen to your conscience? in life.
The Conscience....... What is the conscience??? It's the inner voice speaking within us telling us where we have gone wrong. It taunts us when there is injustice done on our part. One can never run away from one's conscience. Many of us feel we can control our conscience and get away with murder. Yes, this is possible but only for a while. When our minds mature and our hearts learn to accept...

1hopefulman, I have yet to meet a person who adores the mother like you do. Hope many of us see the greatness in our parents rather than the little follies our parents make along the way. Parents are also human beings who are imperfect. Many of us look up to our parents and expect perfection NOT REALISING THEY ARE JUST AS HUMAN AS WE ARE!

shobhan51 commented in a discussion called Men can fall in love in first 10 seconds?? in relationships.

allknowing, I agree with you on this point. The only love that is instant is the love a parent, especially a mother, has for her new born. No other love is instant. This love is also protective and comforting and binds the parent to the child throughout life.

Religion is the opium of the masses. Do you agree?

I feel that religion and God are two different concepts. Many are confused and merge the concept of God with religion. We can't blame the masses for this confusion, because those who are advocates of...

Money matters

This is a case where two persons borrowed money from a third party. The money borrowed from the third party happens to be that person's retirement benefits. Both borrowers borrowed equal amounts...

Do you expect something in return when you give service to others?

I feel that when one does something for someone out of goodwill, it should be done with no strings attached. By this I do not mean that everything should be charity. One should learn to be discrete...

Should teachers be held solely responsible for the decline in morals?

Today, teachers are blamed for the decline in moral values. No doubt, education is the all round development of the young, which includes the inculcation of moral values. But are teachers to be held...

Education

Education is supposed to inculcate moral values and to create individuals who are independent, useful, reliable, resourceful, talented and creative. To what extent does education today satisfy the...
