Survivor Samoa – Dear John… (Warning Spoilers) - Week 12

It’s Been How Long? That is right we had one of those infamous Thanksgiving “Show, No Show” Survivor nights. Here I was all ready to sit down and watch a compelling Survivor and I get the recap show. Although all in all it was not that bad. (As far as recaps go) Why do you Believe Him? That has got to the questions that everyone that has been voted off has said. Why did I believe Russell? You have seen him lie to your face and still as you are leaving you have to look at him and say. “Man your good”. Smile and tell him thank you for voting you off. I hate to say “I told you so” But I did If you look back at week 10 discussion you will see over and over again not just in my original post but in other posts down the page I kept defending my position that Russ would out John because John was too smart for him. I was right. I knew that Russell would not put loyalty before strategy. It is not in his nature. He is here to win the game not make a bunch of friends. On top of that he seems to always play the game one step ahead. How a snake strikes A snake strikes by drawing its prey into itself. I notice things like this when I watch Animal Planet. The snake does not lean toward the prey but rather away from the prey. This gives the prey a sense that it may still be far enough from the snake to get away. Then the snake lunges forward sinking its sharp venomous fangs into its prey and watches it suffer and die. I want you to take notice of how Russell works on his prey. I know that I had mentioned this before but it is worth noting again. Notice how he went to Mick and did not say “Let’s get rid of John” He said “If you could vote out anyone who do you think needs to go?” Then Mick said “John”. Russell therefore in Mick’s mind did not make the decision but rather Mick thinks that he himself did. Then Russell sends Mick out to talk to Jaison. Mick puts it out there to begin with that he came up with the idea. It is brilliant. He draws them in and then sinks hi venomous fangs into the old Galu and soon the Foa Foa tribe. What do I think is next? I think Russell will begin to be targeted by his old tribe. But now he has the opportunity to switch camps. In order to make Shambo happy he can tell her that it was Mick’s idea to vote out John. Then he can team up with Shambo and Dave. However I do not see him doing it this week. Right now Foa Foa needs one more Galu member to go before they can feel safe. Russell will count on that and may very well play his immunity whether he would need to or not just to guarantee that he gets to the final 7. I think the next target will be Monica. I think Bret is due to win immunity. Final Four I am staying fairly stable with my picks. Russell Shambo Mick Natelie

Well Pastor, You certainly deserve a pat on the shoulder!! You are the master. I agree with the final four but Shambo worries me. BTW, I do believe I was the one to put Mick in my final four way back in week 1. Just thought I'd throw that in. Back to Shambo. She's pretty angry that John is gone and I'm not so sure she'll believe Russell. She wasn't in on the plan if I remember correctly. And that is why she she jumped ship on Galu. But at the same time, I don't see her going back. What I do see is the possibility of her joining forces with Mick, and Jaison to somewhere down the line to get rid of Russell. But at the same time, the Snake is always slithering around and catches everyone in action. I can't make up my mind who I want to go first, Dave or Monica. Bothe drive me crazy. Monica should have been kissing Russell's a$$ a long time ago and now it's too late. Dave just thinks he can out smart the rest. One of my favorite scenes was Dave chasing after Russell trying to make sure he didn't find the idol. But Russell doubles back to find it. But at the same time, I agree with Plunk that it looked staged. I think production wanted Russell to find it. I guess we'll never know. Final 4...Russell, Mick, Natalie, and Shambo. Leenie

Lennie, Like you, I do agree with you on Shambo and the former Foa(s) are quite uncomfortable with her. I just hope she would have gotten over her grief with her feathered friend and wear that tact cap of hers. Otherwise, she might just be the next candidate for tribal council. As for the final 4, something just flashed across my mind and this is just a wild one where I am wondering if it will be an all men affair. Brett Jaison Mick Russell What do you think? At the way things are developing there, I just can't wait to see the next episode.

Sky, I too just thought of something. I think Russell will keep Shambo around unless she turns on him, because no one really likes Shambo. So who better to go up against? I also think that if he gets rid of all the Galu tribe except for Shambo, he'll have a better chance of winning. What do you think? LEEnie

doubleloveyou, Hey, you're back. This week was kinda expected and John really had it coming for him. First, he tries to get smart with Russell and I was like "whoa" then, "no, no, no..." Then, that apple pie auction where I was like: "Did he left his nursery rhymes at home?" He really should slap himself, stupid! I wonder if he is going to be able to visit myLot here as I just like to read this out to him: Johnny Johnny pudding and pie, Ate the pie and made them cry When the they came out to play, Johnny Johnny "got voted" away. How cocky can he get? He should have known better, as this is not some kind of bar politics but a U$1 million survival. As for Russell, he is really really playing the game but I just cannot help seeing a hangman's noose round his neck. And that it is getting tighter round his neck as the game progresses on. It is really end to end stuff here and I just cannot wait to see how things will develop.

I know. I could not believe that he just ate the pie by himself. Although he was probably thinking "There is only 4 pieces of pie. That means I have to choose who to be nice to. Do I choose the old Galu who I stabbed in the back or the new Foa Foa alliance. So he chose neither. To tell you the truth, I beleive that he would have been gone either way. At least this way he got a piece of pie. LOL

I agree Sky, John should have shared. That selfish gesture ended my support for the cutie. Cute only goes so far. Leenie

Pastor G, Honestly, I felt narcissism rearing its ugly end with John's pie episode. Fair enough, he got the pie and still his luck when he is given the option! But..... First blooper, he asked "What do you guys want?...." My jaw just dropped and jammed there. Then, that academy blooper that got his DC endorsed: "..and I'm confident that no one is going to vote me off because they did not get a piece of pie." What a narcissistic chauvinist! Red code! Red code! Yea, he's got his pie alright, like "dying" man having his last meal. Last meal indeed! On the side here, I just felt that he could blatantly sided Galu and get the numbers for tribal to ensure his survival. I mean with Monica and Shambo tucking away and 4 pieces of pie....I say he just wasn't thinking. So, like you've said it here, he got his dessert - a pie. And ended up in the pie chart. Oh, before I conclude here, I wonder if Shambo will be in danger at the next tribal as the former Foa(s) are very uncomfortable with her unpredictable and volatile mood swings. Hope she finds her tact cap and be able to stay a while longer. Have a nice day and compliments of the season.

Fangs for the great post. lol They are finally getting onto Russell, but I think he will outmaneuver them at least one or two more weeks. He will either play enough people against others that he won't be a target, or if he can't do that he will play the idol. I think he may be snakey enough to get to the final immunity challenge, but if he does get there, he had better WIN, because surely nobody is dumb enough to take him with them!

I was so upset Thanksgiving Day my self I was so excited to sit down and watch but it was recaps. Well it was not to bad I guesse. Russle is doing really good being a snake and he is playing the stradgey right. I am not so sure if he wants to win the game though he said he was not worried about that in the begining that he was just here to have some fun. Russle is already rich. and said he aint in it for the money.

As far as the recap episode went I was actually fairly glad that they did show a recap episode on Thanksgiving because we had guests at the house and I wouldn't have felt comfortable in the living room watching my show. Who is next. . . Well, I think that the fact that John was voted off even though Shambo wanted Dave gone is going to hurt his chances. Of course, he won't actually be voted off in my opinion because he has the immunity idol and he is going to play it to insure his position in the game. That said, I think that Dave will probably be the next to go. My guesses for the final four at this point: Mick Jaison Russell Shambo
