Walk when you talk - do you follow this idea

hi friends..Walk when you talk,You will agree with me that the technology has made us a little lazy. This lazyness has its own side-effects, which includes a major problem. – Walk when you talk. The campaign follows its famous “What an idea, Sirji!” series, which suggests some damn simple solutions to real world social problems, the next time you chat with someone on your cellphone – don’t rest on chair or bed. Take a little walk of surrounding and regenerate energy. This idea may not appeal of some of you – but believe me it works!! Make it a habit and you will observe that walking refreshes you. i believe in this idea,, even i follow also..i hope you people also follow this idea..to make your health healthy and active.. please drop your idea about this topic, thankyou, have a good day.

Hi Neel, This is a good advise especially for us who's nature of work is sedentary-- almost sitting down the whole day. we need to stand up and do some stretching exercise, walk a lot, do some bending exercise to burn some calories. I am happy that even if my work calls for more computer works - it is complemented with standing almost the whole day as i do facilitation in trainings and seminars. i challenge myself to look for opportunities for me to walk and even do some exercise especially in the office during break time.

i am fine friend...pardon if i extended my response as to what i've mentioned above particularly the importance of walking. i know, i got your point about talking and walking that you are referring to people on the phone while walking and that it may put them at risk for some accidents...they have to be careful of course and be mindful of what's happening around them. another thing is that, their cellphones can be snatched!

Hi neelima Now a days I am using more mobile phones and because of the signal problem, I will go out and talk. Since I like to walk on the lawns every morning, I will talk while walking in the big lawns which makes me my walking exercise complete and conversing with my friends too.

Well if I'm on a phone it's either my house phone, or the ONStar one in my car. In the car I'm driving so no walking for me there. The house phone I pace back and forth so I suppose that counts. I don't have a cellphone, well... I do but I never use it. The odd occasion I do it's to send a text so yeah. That doesn't effect me there either. SO I guess I've been up on this trend since I started pacing on the house phone. :p

I do some walking when I talk, as it is easier for me, and usually, I am shopping or doing errands when my daughter calls, so I am walking already, and I just continue to walk. That really does make sense though, as walking is good for you, and walking and talking is doing more than one thing at a time. I find that I will automatically start walking when I am talking even when I am at home. I don't know why, but I just do, but that is a god thing. It gives me exercise as well, as being able to communicate with my family. Take care, and ahppy mylotting.

Whoo ... this is a good idea!I rarely, if you go talk to someone by phone, usually only purchase,or go somewhere on foot of it. But, unfortunately, prevent a lot of things in everyday life, to walk during a phone call. For example, driving, poker, or if something is important to institute a meeting by telephone. But in any case not like the phone conversation :) more on a personal interview the side stand. The Hill by walking up to the house telephones while :D may be a lack km from here :D

hi neelimaravi, yes it is an idea of walking while talking, walking is good for health,if we walk on the road while talking some thing may happen on the road, some body will hit us,or we may fall on the manhole,we can put our leg on unwanted things,so talk while walk is only on the house is best in my view, have a nice day

That is good idea. Anything that will incorporate more exercise in our lives has got to be good! I rarely sit around when I’m on the phone regardless whether it is my landline or my mobile phone. When my sister rings me, for example we tend to talk for quite a while and during that time I can complete my housework so why not take a walk next time? I may just do that from now one although I better make sure I use my mobile!

Yes you are right, I tried it earlier also and has realized that walking refreshes our mind. Basically I have tried this during my exams when I used to feel sleepy but still forcing my body to stay to study. That time I used to have a little walk then I used to get back to study. It worked and now they are using my style for different campaigns.... I don't have official documents about my style otherwise I would have SUED them... "What an IDEA Sirji!!"

I usually walk while I'm on the phone because I'm the type that needs to be active all the time. So I will have the phone on speaker so I can do things while on the phone. Like cleaning the kitchen, setting the table for dinner or just preparing a cup of tea for myself. There are so many things one can do while on the phone instead of just sitting or laying there talking.
• India
9 Dec 09
hi lelin.. wow, good habbit.. but, when you want to talk personally also you will keep on the speaker or just off it and talk to them.. actually your habbit is nice.. side by side working and talking too.. thankyou for your response, have a good day.

You know, I've never been the kind of person that could be still when I was on the phone. Even back in the old days before the cellular phone and even before the cordless phone I would pace when I was on the telephone. I'm sure you can't even begin to imagine some of the messes that I found myself tangled up in with those cords back then. It was a very long cord too. You have brought up a wonderful point here though, people should take every opportunity that they have, no matter how small to add activity back into their lives.

I have a habit of doing that when I can. I normally do it because I'm trying to find the best reception. Inside my apartment its not allways easy to find good signle because the phone I'm using is a bunch of crap. Depending on the length of the conversation, I'll probably put my bluetooth in and pace around, or find a place to sit or lie down swinging my legs back and forth. I don't know why I do it, but when I'm on the phone I can't really sit still. However, if the conversation is less then a minute I don't bother because by the time I got up the conversation would be over. Only other time is when I'm in the truck, for obvious reasons. Even though I'm not driving (I can't get a licence because I'm blind) its not wise to try to figit to much in a moving vichel. So I'll talk and help shift. Can't get in trouble for talking and driving, if I'm not the one driving right? And, besides I do have a hands-free device so no cop can have a reason to bit...ch you know?
