Ok i know this is not the kind of thing most people talk about... however i really need some help. I am having potty issues. Or shall I say the lack of potty issues. I am doing everything I am suppose to do. I drink gallons of water, eat my fruits and veggies, I work out, and still nothing. I may go potty once a week. From my research online, it says that i should not use laxatives and things like that. So do you know of anything that i can that i have not already done. to help move things along!!!! I am really feeling bad... Please help

For a couple of days change your diet completely! Eat as much junk as you can fity into your tummy. Your body wont like the sudden change and you will be going potty again, do this for about 1 week and then go back to your normal lifestyle. This happens to me quite regularly and as soon as I change my diet all is well again with the works!

Hey, i know that it sounds like doing this will mess up your diet, but it will actually help. Doctors recommend a shock to the system, i believe it's 3 weeks of diet, one week of going crazy on junk. If you stay on one diet for too long your body will get used to it, the diet will stop working and you'll be back at square one. It's the same as medications, after a while your body will become immune to their effects. So actually changing your diet will help greatly. Also you can try fiber drinks, Beans WITH molasses, and coffee, as it's a natural laxative.

Stool softener and laxatives. Apples. Sorry for the generic comment but I'm WAAAAAY behind on my friends posts but want everyone to get their pennies, so here I am. Hi and Happy Holidays if we don't cross each others paths before then.

Maybe just a softener then. I'd have to ask a doctor about the laxatives though. It couldn't hurt to use then occasionally.

milk of magnesia - works for constipation as well as many other things
Sweetie! You shouldn't be embarrassed because going to the bathroom is a fact of life. If we didn't go, we won't live. It's as simple as that. So don't be embarrassed over something that society put such a stigma on, ok? Now, it's ok to take a laxative every now and then to clean your system out. What they mean by it not being good for you is to not take them every day or even once a week if you can help it but maybe once every two weeks to a month is ok. Nothing at all wrong with that however, I do have another suggestion for you, try milk of magnesia. It's what my mom takes and she says it relieves her a great deal so try that first then if that doesn't work, a laxative will.

I should add, peaches peaches and not too many peaches!! LOL Seriously though, peaches have a laxative ingredient that will make you go so that's a wonderful and natural way to do it so try that first then move to the others that I previously suggested.

Hey momma! I have the same problem from time to time! And I just let nature take its course! There are some stool sofeners that you can take like Dulcolax that isn't a laxative and is pretty much natural. I was told about it when I was in the Hospital, but I wouldn't let them give it to me! It is sold over the counter. I have friends who have the same problems too and we all eat veggies and fruit and have no idea why we have these problems! So as I said, just let nature takes its course and you should be fine. Sometimes our systems just get slightly out of wack for whatever reason and then gets itself back on track again all by itself! So you are not alone and it isn't that abnormal!

i think that is because of your type of food you eat .the fore most think you need to do is that you try other foods and see that might sort your problem

My grandmother use to use glycerine suppositories or vaseline balls. I know it sounds gross but it works. Just take a very small amount of vaseline and roll it in a ball and swallow it whole.

i took some castor oil last night. and it says it takes 6 to 12 hours to kick in. so let's see if that works. i would guess works the same way as taking some vaseline.

My son has that problem and we give him Miralax once a day. It is a stimulator and is very gentle. The doctor also told us that we could give him a tablespoon of milk of magnesia once a day, as it is not habit forming. Otherwise, the only thing I would know to do is drink lots of apple juice, eat dried prunes, or walnuts.

You must be feeling bad with a backlog of toxins in your system. Poor you. It seems you are doing everything absolutely right but at this stage I would go the laxatives. I was having severe lower back pain and not having lack of potty issues and my doc sent me for xrays and discovered a huge build up of gas. He put me on some high doses of laxative, senna and some thick white stuff I had to mix with hot water and drink several times a day. The results were...no more back pain. I don't know why you think you should not use laxatives. Certainly some people use them daily and unnecessarily but this is not the case here. Laxatives serve an important purpose. If you are still in doubt, go see your doctor. I go every day a couple of times but my daughter who is fitter and healthier than I only goes every second day.

I think you may have to take a regular fiber supplement to help move things along. I used to have the same problem a while back. I exercise more and try to take in as much fiber as possible. I tend to be regular now.

I am probably about 100 years older than you are, and you know how us elderly types are. But I have found that it helps me a lot to chew up two Fiber Choice tablets every day. Rarely have a problem as long as I remember to "eat" my extra fiber. They actually taste pretty good too. Best of luck to you.
