As many of you might know, a good friend's mother died of a stroke. She was a mother of five, three boys, two girls. I am good friends with one of her sons. He is a great guy who would give you the shirt off his back so to speak. Now for the story. My friend's dad passed away a couple years earlier so his mother had been living alone. Of course, with five kids, she would always have someone visit her. When she died, a brother and a sister of my friend said that they would take care of all the arrangements. I thought to myself. It must be nice having great brothers and sisters. The next day the brother and sister made all the arrangements then told everyone. What happened next, I can not believe. The brother and sister then went to their mother's house and started going through her stuff looking for money and valuables. They ransacked the entire place. These are the same people crying the day before at their mother's death. My poor friend! My poor friend! He was so hurt when he heard about this. He said. They don't even have her buried yet! The vultures don't wait to pick the bones of the dead, especially the family vultures. My poor friend was doubly hurt. Not only did he lose his mother,he is faced with the reality that his brother and sister simply do not care. We all have the power to choose what we deem important in this world. WHEN WE PLACE MATERIAL THINGS ABOVE SPIRITUAL THINGS, IT IS ALWAYS A MISTAKE!!!! I'm going to give my friend lots of moral support. God knows he needs it. He will treat his vulture brother and sister with kindness. That is just him but I'm sure he won't help but think shallow of anything coming from the two.... What do you think?

I guess they couldn't see that she had already given them the best thing she had to offer in being a mother to them and they didn't feel satisfied with that. Its a sad reality of how people are.

I think it is big of him to treat them with kindness regardless of their profound disrespect of their mother. It does not surprise me that they acted like this, and he has ever right to be upset about it. He definitely has the right to tell them how he feels, to help them think through their greediness and give them a chance to feel bad for their actions. They might never feel bad, but it will help him from becoming more bitter as years go on. He seems like he has his head on straight and he needs his siblings to be able to grieve his mother. I wish the best for him and his process!

This is sad. I cant believe this is really happening. I only see things like this in movies. It is just sad knowing there are still people like those today. I hope one day before they sleep, everything flashes back again before their very eyes. and let them realize that they've been heartless those times.

Maybe a good nightmare to match the nightmare they are dishing out. In time they will get the truth. Lots of hurt feelings until resolution time. Sometimes it takes time for people to see. I don't understand why they couldn't see ahead of time. Thanks for the comments!!
