children and cartoon

I am a mother of a 10 year ild son who is crazy of watching cartoon network. Both of us fight everyday for this reason. It affects his studies. and cartoon network is full of violence which will affect him. so I am a worries mother. Do you, parents also face the same problems? How do you try and solve it?

My sister's son used to watch cartoon a lot.It effects a lot in the character formation.It is better to divert them to out door games than watching television.

Yes, I try doing that. But it is someyines very difficult to do that.I tell him to do out and cycle or play with his friends or draw and paint but he gets so involved in his tv, that I should use force.
