Corn Syrup longevity?

Lately I've been seeing many recipies using lite corn syrup.... I've never cooked with it. So I thought I would ask how long the shelf life is on it? As the recipie I'm looking @ right now takes 2 tbs & they sell it in decent sized bottles unlike vanilla (unless you buy huge sizes like @ Sam's club). And I don't know how many recipies I would or wouldn't use it for to justify buying it if it doesn't have a long shelf life.

thanks. we don't do pecan pie so thats why i thought I'd ask in case I don't find a way to use it up fast. What was the longest you ever had an open bottle? I forgot to ask about any substitutions?

I can't say for sure how long i have waited to use an open bottle but i am sure it's been months & months. When i was little i ate it on biscuits at my grandmother's. I have never had any go bad & i have used it for years. it's not dated i just went to look & see. I'm sure there are other uses for it but pecan pie as i said is all i use it for.

The shelf life is pretty good but if you want to use it all up after you make the recipe you are looking at make some pecan pie. Pecan pie's filling is mostly corn syrup, my recipe takes 1 1/2 cups of corn syrup and that is nearly a whole bottle so go ahead and buy it and make your ricepe and pick up some pecans while your at and make some pecan pie, it will be gone in no time.

no one in my house likes pecan pie so saving it to make pie would not be an option for me. thanks for your response.

i would imagine it's good for at least a year, barring humidity in the storage area. that stuff keeps relatively well.
