Resolutions!!!!

I have made many resolutions in the past that I have stuck to and some that I really did not achieve. This year I am going to quit smoking cigarettes, exercise more regularly and think more positivily. All three seem like things I can accomplish with no problem. I have been leading up to the quiting smoking so I should be ready to go next week. Exercise is something I really enjoy and I should be able to incorporate more of it into my life. I have been really working on my attitude and way of thinking over the past year, so this year is going to be more of what I have already been working on. What about you all? Do you make resolutions or just let the new year come and the old go? Do you stick to your resolutions if you make them?

Do quit smoking. That was my resolution in 2005 and I'm happy to say that I did quit and haven't touched one since. My reslutions this year are to write a mystery novel, to lose 30 lbs and to move to the beach. I usually make 3 resolutions and I generally achieve only one. This year, I created short terms and long term plans and will achieve all three! Best of luck to you

How are you doing on your resolutions? I have not quit smoking but I know that will come in due time. I have however been really working on my diet. I am getting more healthy and with that finding that I smoke less often now, which is good. It seems like it is going to be a natural progression and I figure it is for me to work on over the next 11 months

So far. So good. I've written 36 pgs of my novel so far but haven't done much in the last couple of days. In terms of diet, I'm doing carb cycling for 9 weeks. I've lost 5.2 lbs. I know that most of it is water weight but I'll take what I can get. I'm making a lot of progress getting my house ready for sale or lease. I had the interior painted; put in new flooring and I still have a major re-landscaping in progress and when that's done, I'm going to have the trim painted. I've selected a realtor and I think I'm about 2 weeks away from being ready to get the house on the market. I found a small condo that's located a block away from the beach that is on the market as a short sale. Keep moving forward. Small steps will get us both where we want to be by the end of the year

Greetings Jody and all the best to you this New Year! It sounds like you have everything in order and ready to go. I have made resolutions in the past and like yourself, some stuck and some did not. I haven't made a resolution this year, yet but everyday is like a resolution I am working on. Always working towards bettering myself and my life, the best I can. Over the past two years, I gained a bit of weight and although I walk four or more times a day, with my pup, I have ceased to work out. This past week I have started but tracking everything I eat and counting the calories. In order for me to loose at least one pound a week. Take your body weight and times it by fifteen, then subtract 500. That is how you can loose one pound a week. Exercise is also important. This past week, leading up to Christmas has been busy to say the least. My pup takes a huge chunk of my time, daily, but we have been out for our walks religiously. Yesterday, we checked out the hydroponic track that we will be visiting after Christmas. So even before New Years I will be there, working harder to burn calories and gain some muscle back. I suppose that could be a resolution but I didn't wait for New Years to get started. I find that working out and eating well is a lifestyle that I enjoy very much. I used to be a fitness buff but somethings began to over ride that and I slid. Time is way over due so I'm with you! Do you have a goal? Mine is to loose 25 pounds by Spring. How realistic is that? I'm stoked. Even though Christmas time is a hard time to keep track of my diet and not consume too much or any Christmas baking at this point, I am on it and glad I am. Warmest Holiday Wished to You & Yours! Cheers.

Hello and thank you for the comment. Pup is great as usual. Napping at the moment after a long walk. I am feeling better, slowly but surely. You would be truly amazed, when you start counting calories when you realize how much what really is! Try it because it will help you tremendously! Happy New Year!

Well, I just joined a site to track the food I eat and have really been trying to do exercises at the house. I am working up to counting calories. I have never done it and I feel a little weird about it for some reason but I am thinking I might try it. I am going to see how the food journal works. I am pretty sure I need to get better about not eating too late at night and making sure I exercise. I was very athletic. I played soccer on travel teams through high school and played a lot of other sports. I miss having a six-pack like crazy. I don't really have a goal of weight lose. I think maybe 15 lbs by Spring would make me happy. I am 175 and would love to be down to 160 around April. It would be good to be 145 by August. I think 145 is my ideal weight but am not positive, I guess when I get to that area I will have to reassess. Hopefully you are still on track and feeling a little more healthy each day! How is the pup by the way?
