Don't Shoot the Messenger

All websites have rules and regulations, some people read them all and follow them, some read them but forget them and some never read them at all. sometimes people put things up on a site and then it is taken down, sometimes it is reports from trolls other times it is the management themselves. However if a member tells them the reason their articles or piece was taken down was because it was because it did not conform to the sites rules. Instead of thanking the messenger for the information so that they would be all the wiser the next time they want to fight with the messenger as if it is the messenger who is making the policy. The messenger does not decide the rules for the site, they just tried to help because when money is concerned nobody likes to lose money. Do you read the rules and regulations of the sites you frequent and do you try to follow them? Have you ever tried to help someone by telling them not to put up a certain kind of article it might get deleted and instead of thanking you they told you to mind your business, or because some others still were up of the same nature you are wrong, these same people complain even here my discussion got deleted I don't know why. I used to try to help people by telling them now I don't bother anymore.

Personally, I always read the terms and do my best to comply with them. I'm sure that every now and then I walk the line or even cross it a little bit if it's a topic that I feel strongly about. But if I do that and the post gets deleted I accept that I did something to violate the terms and it was warranted. There have been a few times on a paid blogging program where I was asked to remove my post because the sponsor that I did the post for didn't like the way my blog looked. It didn't have anything to do with content, language or a violation of posting or participation terms. The sponsor simply didn't like the color scheme or layout on my blog or something.

not me not anymore, if it was appreciated I would go out of my way to help someone that is my character but when they get mad at me like I am the one that made the rules or tell my to mind my own business that is it, the next thing you see after that is my discussion got deleted I don't know why, and secretly I say to myself good for you, I could have save you your time and your money but you didn't want to listen.

People are just ignorant and will not accept advise from anyone because as far as they are concerned they are doing right and they know it all so it is best now to just leave them to it It is sad that the genuine People have to suffer for that but why should we risk being verbally abused because others will not accept the facts

Like you, I have had people turn on me when I try to suggest that they make their posts in a different manner. It is just like a child screaming that "It"s Not Fair". The person who owns the website has the right to make the rules, and set up the guidelines, and remove things that violate the rules.

As much as possible I always abide by the rules. I do read them upon signing up and try to remember them from time to time. But there are always circumstances that we make mistakes. I may be able to receive some warnings and if that happens I humbly accept the penalty.

hi winterose I used to try to help newbies by telling them they were breaking a rule and might get it deleted but constantly having them get angry at me, I too have given up. just do not' come whining to me about your post being deleted. I will not do anything to help any more aS I have been told I am a knowitall who just wants to make trouble. okay so lose your discussions, as I will not because I occasionally do reread the guidelines.

Am a member in another forum, there this happens a lot of times. People post threads, which is not according to rules. When the moderator intervenes and let them know that it is against the rules. They take it personally and will shout back at the moderator. Since the moderator has rights to ban the user, he gets banned eventually. The basic thing here is understanding the rules, before you make any contribution. If you are going according to rules, who is going to stop you? Thanks for bringing up this discussion.
