I'm not dreaming of a white Christmas.

White Christmas - I just took this picture about 10 minutes ago. It is just outside my apartment. The area in the picture is where the swimming pool is, though it has a tarp over it that is covered with snow!

No, I'm really not. There's snow everywhere here and it's not going anywhere anytime soon! It's so cold here that the snow doesn't entirely melt before the next snow comes. It melts a little, but not totally. The ground is currently covered. I have uploaded a picture of it. At first I didn't think I'd be able to because my rating is too low, but I guess that's just for comments. COOL! lmao no pun intended! Anyway, do you have a white Christmas or not? Post pictures if you can. Do you like snow or not?I like it to play in and have fun in, and it feels much better when it falls on the face than rain or whatever, but I am visually impaired and let's just say that when there is as much snow on the sidewalk as on the grass, it makes traveling a bit more difficult. However, I'd say in general I like it more than I dislike it, though there are times you'd think differently. Share your thoughts and Merry Christmas.

Hi, I live in Australia where there's no such thing as a white Christmas. In fact, it's been quite hot lately. It's rare for me to see snow... In fact, i never seen snow before and i do wonder what it's like.

Lol I know a few Australians, and yeah you guys are smack in the middle of summer this time of year! Lol. Try coming to the states during the winter, like where I am in Utah, and you'll see plenty of it! Maybe you could even try sledding! haha I did that for the first time last year and it was so much fun! I'm from texas, and we're lucky to get 2 or 3 inches at any time of year, so not enough to sled on.

Lol yeah, but haven't done that recently. I actually haven't yet had the chance to go sledding yet this year either. The only time there has been enough snow recently, there was a half rain half snow thing and that stuff is disgusting, especially when it's on the surface! I really hope it gets good enough soon cuz my fiance and I are going with family when we can.

xuara1 hi I moved out here in Ca from South Dakota and Phoenix arizona many years ago , as I like a warmer clime, and no we do not have snow in Southern California ;but its been cold for this area today with lots of sunshine but no snow ever. it was forty years ago when it snowed last here and it only stayed on the ground for a few minutes. Merry Christmas to you and yours and a happy New Year too.

Glad you're happy with your climate and all. That's great! I actually left Texas for a completely different reason. I needed a change and my fiance had friends and family out here in Utah, so we decided to come here. Also, the public transportation here is the best I have ever seen, so it allowed us to be TONS more independent. I love it! The snow is just an added bonus. I just wish it'd be good enough to sled in. We had enough about a week ago, but some of it was nasty half snow or whatever, so not good sledding stuff. Anyway, I've only lived here around 7 months, so I haven't felt the bitterest of the cold season. Mayve I'll change my mind when I do, lol.

oh ho you will when you are driving and get into a blizzard and theres not another car on the road, you cannot see a foot ahead of you and then you slide into a snowdrift, you will want to get back to warm climates so fast. then You will hope you have enough warm clothes on and in these modern times a cellphone with a good battery as you will need help. also you will need chains, a spare tire, and a shovel, plus water and additional warm spare clothes. I was born and raised in South Dakota and my first 31 years of blizzards and cold weather prompted me to find a warmer place. snow was pretty once then pretty awful.

Actually, I don't drive. I am visually impaired and I walk and take the public transportation everywhere. We usually don't have to worry about too many problems with the busses and all because they are always prepared and know how to handle nearly any contingency. Even better is the light rail system here. You get all the way across town pretty quickly and the only thing the snow does is slow them down slightly. So, my main issue with travelling in the snow is having to hike through areas that haven't been plowed.

Hi, xuara1. I am not dreaming of a white Christmas either. We don't have any snow on the grounds where we are at. Our town has not had any snow yet. I like the snow, it is very cold. I don't like when the snow makes you slip up. I have slipped so many times until I lost my balance. And that is when the snow gets very bad. Merry Christmas!

Lol I don't mind snow for slipping on so much. It's the ice that is particulary bad, especially black ice! My fiance and I have really nice snow boots though, so they keep our feet warm and have excellent traction too so we rarely slip in them.

A few weeks ago a friend and I were talking about christmas, and she said : "I hope that we will get a white christmas this year" and I replied: "Yes, a white christmas would be nice" One day later the snow came and it created a lot of problems for us. It made driving really difficult, and my husband got involoved in a car accident because of the snow. He is alright, but out car was badly damaged, and it will be expensive to get it fixed. Snow also creates problems in other ways and the busses are delayed. That wouldn't have been a problem in the summer months, but the it is really cold outside at the moment, and it not nice having to wait several hours for a bus. Walking is also difficult, we have to walk slowly and the sidewalks are really slippery. When I think about the problems that the snow is causing I can't help remembering my own comment a few weeks ago ("Yes, a white christmas would be nice") and I must admit that I have changed my mind. I still think that it is beautiful when everything is covered by snow, but I hope that we don't get a white christmas next year, because then we won't have to deal with the problems that the snow is causing, and we don't have to cancel our plans because of the snow.

Here, we don't usually have that problem because they'are pretty quick about plowing the streets and sidewalks, though it does sometimes cause hydroplaning and stuff when there's the water left over on the road. I love to play in snow, and sled and get pictures of it, but I agree it's a pain to try and travel in. Much better to just have somewhere near home that you can go play in, especially if there are kids in the picture. I can't wait til I have them cuz it's a cool experience, but I am glad it is usually well plowed here. I'm sorry about your husband's accident. I guess you probably don't get as much snow as we do, so they aren't as ready for it. That's how it was when I was in Texas.

Its funny around here. There was barely any snow for the last month. A couple inches for a few days but it melted. Then like about 2 or so on Christmas, the flood gates were opened. It seemed like an entire year's worth of snow just came down. Now snow on its own is not bad. The fact here was that it did something here that made the conditions more hazardous, as it rained before it snowed for like a day and then it froze, making the roads very slick. Thankfully, we made it back from our Christmas get together just in time but it was very close. Another half of an hour and we might not have made it home. As I type this, the snow continues to come down and does not look to stop any time. I used to like it when I was little, because it was like "snow, yay, I don't have to go to school!" Now it's just cold and depressing.

Lol yeah I loved snow days in Texas. Unfortunately when I have children they won't get to experience that because Utah schools don't close due to snow unless it's so bad that you are snowed in! It actually doesn't rain often here, so we get the nice white fluffy stuff without all that watery junk too, but it can still be a pain at times. Just the same, it's a nice refreshing change from what I'm used to.
