AVATAR-the movie

I am usually not into the science fiction movies. I did like the old STAR WARS movies, but for the most part, I don't get into the whole alien movie thing or stuff like that. I prefer to watch movies about stuff that can actually happen. However, I have seen the advertisements for the new movie AVATAR that came out last week, and it seems like it would be a good movie to go see. I have a couple of friends at work who have seen it, and they really liked it, but then again, they are younger guys who are into all the new movies and the video games and all that stuff. As stated earlier, I usually am not, so I was wondering if anyone here had seen the movie, and if so, what did you think of it? I am thinking about going to see it, but I really don't want to end up wasting my money. So, what do you think? Have you seen the movie, or if not, are you planning to go see it. I am really just looking for a few more opinions on the movie before I spend my money to go to the theater and watch it...

Me, my husband and 18 year old son went to see Avatar. We all enjoyed the movie. It does have a predictible ending but getting to that point is interesting. The visual effects are awesome in the movie and it makes you think about things. I love movies that have somewhat of a moral to them. I would recommend seeing the movie if you haven't yet.

I have pretty much decided to go see the movie. I will try to see it next week when I get back from my business trip on Monday.

It's not on my 'must see' list but it's on my 'would like to see' list. If I don't see it in theaters, I will almost certainly rent it later.

Yes, I have seen the movie, only the last week. I am also not much into fantasies and science fictions. This one however has a human touch, poignancy and a thoughtfulness which made me sit all through. It's a really long movie and by the time it was finished I was seeing all Avatars around me. Yes, the presence of the avatars is so overpowering. It has a pic appeal with excellent technology behind the making. It shows with the detailing. It's worth watching, single time though. I would not watch it again though. In the end good triumphs over bad with an obvious climax but the presentation and treatment was beautiful. I didn't watch the 3D version which promises to be more fun.

I like science fiction, not Alien type of movies, because I hate horror elements in SCI-FI but Star Trek or Eureka and similar shows I find interesting. Everyone is taking about Avatar but that isn't the reason why I decided to go and see it. I wanted to see it on the big screen because some movies just require the big screen. Yesterday I went to the movies to see Avatar but all the tickets were sold so we purchased the tickets for today. We got a great deal because today is the Family Day at the cinema so we got the tickets for $3 instead of $5. I am really looking forward to the movie.

I want to see it too. My wife's aunt who is in her 50s saw it and she really liked it. You don't have to be into the sci-fi game to enjoy the movie I've been told. Plus, James Cameron directed it and he's a master storyteller. I want to see it because I'm sick of wizards and vampires.
