walking improves cardiovascular fitness by getting the heart to beat faster to send blood rich oxygen from lung to the musscles. this makes the functioning of the heart and lungs more efficient besides reducing blood pressure and the resting heart rate. Walking also helps one recover from heart attack.. by Fitpunch

I agree. We can have the health benefits by walking as a form of an exercise. I do walking when I have my off duty. Usually I do it not in a crowded place, an environment where I could see landscape because for me it's therapeutic seeing a clean and green environment. Aside from that, I can incorporate my hobby of taking pictures while I will do walking. Thus, it will add up the fun I get on a day of walking.

Plus you get fresh air and an oppertunity to take lots of pictures! I usually go walking with my camera rucksack, can't miss a chance to get some good shots of nature, people, buildings etc.

This is very true. I love walking that I even took a PE class on it. :D I believe it is a wholistic exercise because you are not just exercising you legs but your whole body especially the lungs and the heart. I can always enjoy walking since I can hat with a friend or walk my pets. I dont need to have strong legs because even a short and pleasant walk can help anyone become fit. Even now that I dont go to school anymore and I am home-bound, I still manage to continue walking on my treadmill. I dont have any other exercising machine because I believe that regular walking is enough to keep me fit and healthy. :D
