I feel that Arsenal has what it takes to be the winners of the premiership come May 2010. This is not being over-ambitious or being unrealistic about the issues at stake. I, however, agree that one cannot afford to be too hopeful if one takes into account the events of the past seasons. The team started brilliantly only to lose steam toward the end of the race and finally settling for third or fourth position. It was so painful on each occasion. I understand that Arsenal will lose both Emmanuel Eboue and Song to the African Cup of Nations starting next Sunday, January 10, 2010, and lasting three weeks. However, I don't consider their exit to have much impact on the team. Eboue has not been part of the starting team of Arsenal for the past few weeks and, while Song has been a consistent first team member, he often commits unpardonable mistakes earning him a number of avoidable yellow cards. I feel teams like Chelsea and Manchester City will suffer more from the exit of important first team players. Moreover, if Arsenal can overcome a few injury worries, then, this is the time to give both Chelsea and Manchester United a run for their money. Go on boys, "shoot down" every opponent to lift the premiership trophy come May 2010. JUST DO IT!

Arsenal has had a super-duper December 09 to be firmly back in the title chase. Sir Alex still believes that it is a two horse race between Man U and Chelsea, but I guess he discredits the run of Arsenal while he makes such a comment. During this hectic season both Man U and Chelsea have consistently dropped points, while Arsenal have strung together another beautiful run of victories after the thrashing at the hands of Chelsea. One more win in their game in hand against Bolton and they move into the second spot over Man U. Cheers! Ram

No way... Arsenal don't have that potential to top the league charts this year... Man U or Chelsea have better attack than Arsenal... they can barely get to the 3rd or 4th position in the table with the top three being Man U, Chelsea & Liverpool...

Hard to say. But Arsenal do have a subtle danger in their squad. Song and Eboue will leave to Africa for about a months, also Cesc and Walcott are also out of the squad for about 10-12 days. So think about how many players? Position of center backs is still danger. Gallas-Vermaelen have proved their ablity and just flash back: They almost play each game from the first round with the Toffees to the Pompey yesterday evening. If they get injuried, who can replace them? Silvestre? Sendros? Or Djourou still in the recovery? I don't care how much points between ManUtd, even Chelsea, grab each of the points and wait their blunder. The season has just half-finished,everything is possible.

I don't think so because if you look at the state of this team you will see that the fighting spirit is not there, strength and lack of experience among the player. Now Fabrigas is not there, eboue and song are going for nations cup....... so who will hold the mid field. Another thing is that the couch is not helping the mater with his idea and believe in those young boys not knowing the fact that football is not the game of boys but men. If he can do some good signing.... this time physically fit players with experience then they can challenge the like of Big Chelsea boys and the Experience Manu side.
