How can you earn money from Twitter?

How is it possible to make money from Twitter? I have seen that lots of people are saying that you can earn money from Twitter, but I don't understand. Also, I don't have twitter account, but how do you get followers? I think it is a great way to advertise my blog and I am thinking of getting an account...
But someone was talking about RTs and mahalo. Does anyone know what that is? And are there other money making methods that can be ultilized on twitter?

Using twitter to make money is actually a scam. No one is really making money off of twitter. Unless of course there is a unique way in which they are doing so. Most claims of showing adds on tweets are scams.
However, to sign up for twitter simply visit the website and fill out the form. It's completely free.
And, yes RT is Retweeting...

Are they really a scam? I will have to check that out myself, but my tweets will probably be about philosophy, as I have a philosophical blog. :P
Don't know how affliate links will fit into that, but I hope I'll find a way, though I have to do some research on the best follower-gathering tweeters. :P And can you please tell me more about retweeting? I am not sure about that. :(

I didnt know that it was possible to make money directly from twitter. Mind you I do use it to promote my work and drive traffic to my blogs, so I guess in a way I am making a little money from Twitter. lol.

Haha, now you do. :P I've heard a lot about it, so I thought I should try it out. It should be easier to get followers on twitter, and definitely more easier than readers on your blog, but hopefully you will be able to direct some traffic over there. :P
