Wings start the new year out right!!

We needed these 2 points..we beat colorado 4-2. It's the first time we have scored 4 goals this month!! Pavel actually had a goal, and played better than he has been lately.
Hopefully this is the beginning..we start a 5 game road trip saturday which includes a trip to the duck pond. Sticks crossed we are at the beginning of turning this around and looking at fighting our way to a play-off spot!!
Happy New Year my hockey friends I hope all of your teams start the new year the same way we did.

Your Wings are mine Wings. Did I hear correctly that Fippula and Cleary back soon? I hope so. there is stil time to turn this around. As for my Caps? they are doing okay thank you. i fear if the wings would to meet the caps in the final , it would be a flip flop of what happened back in 97 or 98.

Oh G-d that's right! The Ducks are goons. Yikes! now I'm worried too.I heard that NBC will be airing hockey staring Jan 17th! And I think they said it will be a Wings game!

Happy New Year Sarah!! Filuppula is back, no one will say for sure when Cleary is back. Franzen is chomping at the bit to return. Someone told him the other night they had heard he would be back after the olympics and he got all kinds of ticked off and wanted to know why they thought it would be AFTER the olympics..
Don't want to think about our wings meeting your caps. The game I am most concerned about is the one with the ducks later this week, they love it when we are hurt and make it their misson to see if they can hurt the guys we still have skating!

I think everyone won tonight but my team - Boooo!! And I was at the game. It was fun booing everytime Sean Avery got the puck. My boys just didn't have enough jump in their game tonight. My kid has a tournament all weekend. Hopefully my real boy will win all his games!! Congrats to everyone and Happy New Year!!

Sorry M that the canes lost on new years eve. I tried to watch some hockey that night, but as soon as I saw my canucks fall 0-3 to St. Louis I turned it off. I watched some TV yesterday morning and saw that the canes did lose, and the wings won, but I was surprised that the canucks came back to win the game.
Hope your kid had better luck.

Sorry this is a bit late. But I was thinking that it was great that the wings won against the avalanche. I still don't believe that they are a playoff team and they shouldn't be winning these many games. Thanks for denying a NW opponent 2 points.
Anyway, good luck against Coyotes tonight!

We do what we can bounce. The AVs aren't a playoff team, if they get in I don't think the ride will be long for them, man they are young..and they have much to learn based on what I saw in this game.
Sticks crossed for Coyotes.I just read Brad May had lower body injury and is day to day, he doesn't score but is doing a great job protecting the scorers we still have standing, without our enforcer I worry about Pav and Raffie. Bert can take care of himself.
