The shipping cost is too high at ebay.

I bought several stuff from ebay. In general, I am happy with my purchase, the only problem is the shipping cost, it's too high. If the sellers lowers the shipping cost, I surely can buy more without much hesitation. So I guess in the long run, they need to reconsider about this.

I know shipping can be high. When I sell on ebay I would only charge the buyer for actual shipping. I just charge the buyer a flat rate. I find it easier to do. I also will offer free shipping if I have the money for shipping and the item sells for way more then the shipping cost. When I buy an item on ebay I just go for the lowest shipping and lowest price. If it is a rare item that I want then I would be willing to pay extra for shipping but that is just me though.

My husband sells a lot of itmes on Ebay and his shipping costs, like those of most of the sellers he buys from, are based on how far the item has to travel. It costs what it costs to ship something. If the seller charges less than what the shipping costs are, the sale costs the seller money. Ebay also charges the seller so, if he gives away too much, he ends up with little to nothing for selling an item. Sometimes he starts an item high and offers free shipping, but he still makes out on the deal. Remember that you can look for the best deal on Ebay but, the fact is that there are plenty of buyers out there so losing a couple of folks who don't appreciate the cost of shipping an item isn't a big deal to regular sellers.

I have bought lots of things from overseas such as China and moat them ship free. Sometimes the shipping cost (to the seller) was more than what the item sold for.I think that they make up for it in the higher priced items (the ones that sold for higher) and the volume, that they sell in.Plus they have to pay Pay Pal a percentage of the cost that they get for the item. The shopping cost is not included in the price that Pay Pal gets (or I do not think it does) so the seller will put the shipping cost higher so that they do not have to pay Pay Pal as much. I usually only buy things that I cannot find locally. If I do buy something that I can buy locally, it will be the one that is the best price, I bought 200 sterling silver ear wires (ear rings) for under $20 with the shipping free) whereas in a local shop the same one pair of ear wires would cost $2.00 or more. It does not take a genus to figure out that it is better sense to buy the ones from overseas.

Yeah, the shipping fees are a bit too high, it would be better to purchase bulk items from an actual store. The only convenience that ordering online would give would be the ease of just waiting for the item to arrive at your place. Sellers on ebay would suggest to order a large amount of items to minimize on shipping costs, that does sound good but, we can't always do that. We sometimes just neen one item from them and that's it. Then again, sellers want to guarantee their buyers that the items would really arrive at their place which makes them avail on services that do charge rather high.

i had purchased a few items at ebay, and mostly i surf on free shipping, har har har but i understand why some has shipping that cost high for it depends on what item you are purchasing. if it is electronics then they pay taxes for that and also items that can break. if you are far also from the origin of the country of the seller then that is one of the reason too. i feel sorry also for items that i like to purchase but i cant due to high cost of shipping but i also surf on free shipping and i stick on asia mostly for i am from asia. so the shipping is not that expensive

I like ebay, but the shipping is expensive. I always look carefully to see what the cost is for shipping. I know that most of the items cost 1.00, but the shipping costs makes the item expensive. I know one time I ordered my husband a book about Titanic and with the shipping it came close to 30.00. I was mad because most of the cost was shipping. If I was able to find the book in the store I would have bought it there instead.
