What do you need to kickstart your day?

Some people need tea or coffee first thing when they wake up in the morning. Some need a smoke to get back to their "waking" life. Still others need prayer or meditation to enable them to think with a clear mind throughout the day. There are people who just need a good, filling breakfast to kickstart their day. I need tea with a nutritious breakfast in the morning. I had always thought that tea for me is a must in the morning. Then, early last year I was forbidden from drinking tea for a few weeks due to some reason. The thought of giving up tea for a few weeks made me feel that my days would get ruined. Surprisingly, nothing changed in those few weeks and I could continue with my activities as before without any "withdrawal" symptoms! What do you need to give your day a kickstart? Have you changed your routine and tried something else ever, and what was your experience?

I always have milk and cereal in the morning, I do not drink coffee or tea I drink coffee sometimes, but it just makes me drowsy and less concentration. I've never changing my routine activities of daily, milk is the only one of my favorite drinks. Because after drinking, I have the spirit to rise.

If coffee makes you drowsy it proves my hypothesis that beverages affect you in a manner that you train your body to respond to them. Milk and cereal is very healthy to kickstart your day.

Breakfast and my vitamin work well enough for me to get me going. I've added a glass of water before breakfast, but that's the only change. I've never had coffee, and don't drink tea that frequently to add anything. So while basic, it works for me.

I like the healthy way that you start your day and that too sans tea, coffee or any other stimulating beverages. The best thing to drink is indeed water and you incorporated that as well.

I need a cup of hot coffee in the morning to start my day. Coffee is my petrol. No coffee, no buchi_bulla. Sometimes I feel coffee is invented for my sake.

No coffee, no Buchi_bulla really sums it up for you! Coffee is one of the most rejuvenating drinks that can give an amazing kickstart at the beginning of the day.

hi emvy548 I must have my first cup of hot black coffee to wake my my taste buds and my mind for the new day. I drink four or five cups of coffee every day and thus keep my mind active, alert , and free from senility or alzenheimers disease. a lot of studied of us elderly people show that people in the elderly range that drink four to five cups of coffee each day have at least sixty percent less chance of becoming senile or have alzenheimers disease. so there is a good reason to enjoy my hot black coffee, I want to keep my mind alert and perking right along. he he he.

Coffee to keep the mind alert and to prevent senility - that's an interesting thought. That means in a few years I will have to get myself to drink coffee and then start having more of it until I reach four or five cups a day! I see coffee being drunk more in mugs, while tea is usually in cups. Mugs would be twice the size of mugs. So if you say four or five cups that would be about two mugs - not too bad for preventing senility I must say!

I very much enjoy a Tim Hortons coffee; 3 creams and 3 sugars. For those who don't know Tim Hortons (or Timmy's) is a Canadian coffee shop, very popular.

I usually kickstart my day with a prayer because I know that it is actually what you need to start and end my day right. After that, I immediately drink coffee and then start my day by reading emails. However, I think I need to lessen my coffee trips because I have been having these heartburns lately... so I might think of another 'drink' that can jumpstart my day.

It's a bit hard to read and maintain emails! It kind of takes up most of my day because aside from answering the email, you also can't delete your response and the email thread so it's a big difficult! =( Green tea? thanks for the advise. I am doing that right now and will probably have a stack of green tea in my office.

Prayer, coffee and emails - you have them in the right order, I must say! I too say my prayer and do some meditation by listening to my breathing for 15 minutes. It keeps me calm for the entire day, and my 4-5 cups of tea keep me fresh till evening. Emails - well I get them day in and day out and they keep waiting in my inbox just to pounce on me when I open it! If you're getting heartburns, the right thing is to indeed cut down on the coffee. An alternate 'drink' could be green tea, the one I drink, which also happens to be good for health though it is much less stimulating.

I have changed my routine over the years, but going straight into the shower when I wake up works best. I feel cleansed and relaxed when I get out of the shower and then take time to eat my breakfast. I don't like to rush in the morning so I wake up earlier than strictly neccessairy so that I can read, watch the news or for example knit or read my e-mail and wake up slowly.

A shower to start your day, and you are as fresh as can be for the day ahead! That is a good thing to do. Waking up early is also very good since that itself gives you a jumpstart on all your activities. Besides, waking up early gives you enough time for a good breakfast as well, a meal that many actually skip due to lack of time.

Tea, definitely. Hot, with sugar. And keep it coming! After I post this, I'm going to have my second cup of the morning.

I am finally joined by a fellow tea drinker! Since I drink green tea now, I have started experimenting with various flavors of green tea that are now available at the local store. I allow myself sugar only with my first cup of tea though, the rest being sweetened with stevia :-(.

I drink coffee and eat my breakfast to start my day right. Breakfast is the most important meal for the day so I make it a habit to really eat right. I sometimes changed my routine but I definitely won't skip my breakfast.

I need a hot cup of coffee for a kickstart in the morning daily. Yes I tried to bring a change simply for no reason but my attempts were in vain simply because I felt nothing could replace a cup of hot coffee.

I need an alarm clock, a coffee or tea and a heavy meal for breakfast. This fitted my lifestyle in a busy day. Sometimes, I tend to drink also cola drinks in the morning when I am in rush. I did changed some of my routines before but still I went back to that pattern. The experiences I gathered are neutral for me either I switched ways.

Breakfast is actually the meal that gets you through the day, one meal that can kiskstart your day really well. I too have a breakfast consisting of fruits and cereals which give me energy for the day.

To start up my day right, upon waking I will still stay lying in bed for some few minutes to gain back my senses then sit for a prayer, go directly to the window and look around with a glad smile for a bright day. After doing all my hygenic routines at the bathroom, I usually proceed to the kitchen to have some hot coffee, chocolate or milk depending on my mood on what to drink then go infront of the Television to catch fresh news or just walk around with my hot cup at a nearby distance. There I go My day has perfectly started ! I only do these things when I am at in my own home.

I always wake up with a cup of hot coffee in one hand and a smoke in the other, but I had to stop smoking 3 days ago, as I found out I'm preggo, and have changed my morning routine, to stop the cravings.....So far, it has worked.
