Well, I've asked you guys lately about war movies and received quite massive feedback. I must thank you for that, because it really helped me to choose some good war movies to watch. Now I'm asking you about horror movies: could you recommend me some good horror movies, that could really scare me off my seat? Me and my friends are planning to organize kind of a horror movie night, we'll be watching together some horror films, so I would like to receive some recommendations on that type of films. So, go on, share that true horror with me!

Oh, I've seen these ones the last responder mentioned. They're quite creepy in some parts, but like other responders, I haven't found a movie yet that would really scare me.

it isnt a horror movie the way I imagine most people would define a blood-and-guts horror, more of a scary thriller. The ending will shock you speechless and you'll be thinking for weeks about how you never saw it coming.

I tend to go for old-school horror movies myself, especially British horror films, but also anything with Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff. All the Dracula films with Christopher Lee are worth watching or the Hammer Frankensteins, or the old 30s and 40s Universal stuff. I also like anthology movies, so "The House That Dripped Blood", "Tales From The Crypt", "Vault Of Horror", "The Monster Club", "Tales From The Darkside" or "Creepshow" would be good choices. On the other hand, if you want something more suspensful, to send chills down your spine, watch out for a Chinese film called "The Eye" or a Japanese film called "Kairo".

I must say I'm not familiar with older horror movies, so it would be something completely new for me. I'll also check out those Asian horror movies. Thanks for your answer!:)

It isnt a traditional blood-and-guts horror like I imagine most people would define a horror, it's more of a scary thriller. The ending will shock you speechless and have you thinking about it and how you never even saw it coming long after the lights are out.

But do you have any suggestions of the real horror films?

I've never been one on just pure horror movies I like suspense in my movies, something that is going to keep you on the edge of your seat and draw you into the film. You can never go wrong with Stephen King. Rose Red is an excellent mini-series horror movie. How about some of his others, Christine, It, Sleepwalkers. In each one you find good ol' Stephen in a cameo. Another movie that I can think of although not so much horror but more on the side of suspense would have to be the movie, "What Lies Beneath." It shows Harrison Ford in a totally different character role that you would never expect. Hope these help with your search for a good Horror movie to watch.

I've heard some good feedback about that Rose Red film a couple of months ago, but I forgot to take a look at it. Must be a good movie then. Haven't heard about the other ones, but I should definitely check them out. Thanks for useful answer!;)
