The reason for this question stems off the fact that there are Hundreds even Thousands of persons out there claiming to have found the best diet solution. If they are so darn good why do we still have persons who are obesed? Everyday a new programme or product comes on the market that is dubbed "The best thing ever" yet there are persons out there who are still struggling with their weight issue. Someone PLEASE tell me you have found something that actually work, so I can pass on the information to one or two people. If all these product worked then everyone should be the considered "normal" size. Whats your view on this?

I think it's because exercise is the only way to lose weight.Nothing else works. There are no pills that are gonna make you lose weight. Some advice you should give other people to answer your discussions before jumping to choose a best response.

It's not a matter of finding the right diet plan or diet pill. Taking a pill or eating a certain company's food that they say will make you lose weight or going on liquid diets isn't what needs to happen. It is the life style that needs to change. Choosing new and healthier foods to eat, not skipping meals, and exercise. Even if its just a walk around your neighborhood. Society has advanced to cater to fast service and quickness which has resulting in people becoming lazier. Our technology advancements have also aided in this. The best advice I can give having been a young teen who weighed well over 200lbs and now I am proud to say that i lost weight and am down to 120 and have kept the weight off for over 6 years now is that its all about changing of the life style! If following a program is a desire or even a must the best one is weight watchers. Simply because you control the food still, yes you can buy their food but they don't have a whole lot and honestly have following for a bit the point counting is something you get use to and you can pretty much look at anything and estimate how many. This is how I started losing weight, weight watchers. But now I simply make choices that are healthier, yes I still enjoy a good slice of cheesecake and even bake cakes all the time. Cookies are a favorite in my house that i go crazy baking but I've learn to portion and monitor myself. People think there is a simple solution and they don't have to work at it but in reality the only true way to change it is to change the way you live your life. I hope this helps and you will share this with people.

I think that is the problem many think they can eat any and everything with little regard for the consequences on their health. Then after gaining weight they sit by and expect that they can pop in a pill or consume some miracle diet package and expect that all the weight they accumulated in months will fall off in weeks. Obesity is a lifetsyle problem it requires a balance between eating and activity .Consequently if you consume enormous amounts and do very little activity then all the calories from the food will have to go somewhere and that apppears as fat and hence obesity. I think the normal size will depend on your height to weight ratio and theer is really no one size fits all formula or standard

I think because of the fastfoods and our lifestyle today. Unlike before life is very simple and food is much more healthier compare now. Processed foods are available and because of technology people got lazy to exercise or to have physical activities. I'm also trying to be healthy and to lose weight because I gained so much weight from the past holidays so my goal is to exercise regularly to eat healthy food.

The reason that there are so many people that are obese in today's society is because there are so many people that are accustomed to convenience and fast food. Neither of these is good for the human body. So, in my opinion, the best thing for people that would like to lose weight and get in better shape is two fold. The first thing that people need to do is they have got to exercise. The second thing that they need to do is to start making food themselves instead of always buying things from a package. If one was to do both of these things then they would find that they are able to lose weight and end up in a better physical condition.

I am not obese but i have a few good friends who are obese. They said it's more of the gustatory gland at work. that they like to eat with much gusto. Eventhough they know that eating too much of carbo and fatty foods and sugar will not do much good for the body but because they have the urge or the push to eat , they just love to devour and eat as much as they like. Yet, i also have found out that most of them do have very passive lifestyles. Not too much hard exercise was imposed. Most also i know of are from depression or anxiety. So much of displaced emotion was thrown into sloppy lifestyles and eating habits.but again... it's nice to live in moderation ...too much of everything is dangerous. :)

well being obese is not something that can be fixed by products or other fitness guru. its up to oneself if they want to change how they look and take action about it. products are just somethings that can help but these alone cant fix it if you don't have the determination to change

I think it is basically because of the kind of food we eat and the lifestyle we have. Because of fast-paced life and modern-living, convenient foods are readily available. unfortunately these foods are rich in bad stuff like oil and sugar that makes us fat. Because of busy schedules, people don't find time to exercise or because everything is done with a push of the button, that makes us sedentary.

I don't know,I guess cause food is good. I eat churche's chicken, well my family eats it like 2 or 3 times a week. It's just easier then cooking. And my family we order out a lot too,I admit I'm a bit out of shape, but not too bad so it doesn't bother me,I don't care if other people don't like the way I look. What matters is how I feel, and I don't feel that bad. I don't even harley eat breakfast, sometimes lunch mostly dinner. I exercise once in a while.

Obesity is not normal. And it isn't just about the food they eat or their lifestyle. Maybe there's an underlying problem--could be emotional, something depressing that causes him/her to eat too much to relieve the stress. Most people are unaware of it. I remember watching Rachael Ray and there was this guest, who was a fitness expert, who said that he didn't know anybody who loved food too much that he would overeat. Overeating, according to him, is a symptom of a much deeper problem, which should be resolved FIRST than the eating habits. This has already been said by the previous respondents, but it's true: fast foods are unhealthy. Most people get too busy that they don't even get to cook their own food, which could be healthier, so they resort to take-home orders. Calories of these foods are just unbelievable.

We all trace it back to how well our parents managed our "impulse control." Eating is essential for us to survive as food is one of our basic needs. The questions come in as to how much are we supposed to eat, when is the best time to eat, when to stop eating and so on and so forth. Had our parents receive the best training in controlling our impulses for eating too much, then the number of obese persons would decrease. We have yet to determine what is the most appropriate way in training our children to eat in moderation - the right kind of food in the right amounts and at the right time. What these diet tips are offering are already curative. I think we have to think of the bottomline - where it all started. And that is in the home. The home can definitely offer preventive measures. It's stopping obesity before it even begins. It's all about control. Moms. Dads. They are our best agents for change. . . and we start it in the home.
