I am a mom of two kids a boy 4 years old and a girl 18 months. I work part time in the mornings when I get home I feed the kids and my husband then he goes to work and I am home with the kids for the rest of the day. I love having time to get out and work and yet not having to be away from my kids 40 hours a week. I find that by the time my husband leaves though I just want to sit down for a few minutes and I don't get the chance so I drag the rest of the day and don't do as much fun stuff with the kids as I would like to. Any suggestions to get out of this rut.

wow i admire you and it is no wonder that you feel tired when you get home. do you have a quiet time with your kids when they can have some down time in the afternoon. you could pop on a movie for your son and lay down with your daughter.

I can't wait to see what kind of responses you get out of this. I'm only a mom of 1 kid and for the most part my husband and I work the same hours... but some days he works longer days than I do. But I get up in the morning and rush around to get out the door by 7 b/c I have to run my daughter to daycare, I sit at work til 430 and then have to go get my daughter so by the time I get home its like 515-530 by the time you cook anything decent for dinner its like 630-7. Then I have to debate with myself whether the dishes or the laundry is more important tonight... but then I only do 1/2 of it b/c I want to spend a little bit of time with my daughter before its time for her to get a bath at 730 and bed at 8. Then the weekends are just spent trying to play catch up from the week. I know there are plenty of people out there that manage this wonderfully... but I'd really like to know how. I'm making myself a work out room in the basement b/c I've put on a few pounds and i want to lose it and I also feel that if I start working out on a regular basis it will improve my energy... but I barely find the time to vacuum the spilled cereal on the floor... how am I going to put in a 1/2-45 minute workout routine into all of this! I really wish those darn women's rights groups never started! Then maybe I could be at home all day with my beautiful daughter and my spit spot clean house and have dinner ready for my loving husband when he gets home from work... but NO! We have to be equal! Bleh! haha I'm actually waiting to see what our tax return is to see if I can get my car or some of the credit cards or something paid off and still be able to afford my house and everything. THAT would be AWESOME if I can work something out to just work maybe 2 days a week or 3 or 4 hours a day or something instead of 8 or 9! That's my goal darnit! I'll find a way!
