Since the book reader devices launched from Amazon and Barnes and Nobles. It definitely will have a huge impact on the way we reading books in the near future. You don't have go through bookshelf to find your book again. There is a convenient way, through a book reader you purchase and search your favorite books in just a second. So, would you think it also gotta affect the way we reading daily newspaper too? They can cut use of paper, and you can read your daily headlines through this electronic devices. How convenient!

I get most of my news streamed to my homepage these days. Newspapers are large and unwieldy. I think their future is a dark one. Books on the other hand I think will stand the test of time. You may be able to read your entire favourite book on a screen but, I think a lot of us would rather have the actual book. Something about turning the pages and not having a load time or any technical things getting in the way probably helps. I know this guy, he was boasting about how he could read his fav books on his iphone or whatever. But do you really want to? As soon as you take it out in the sun your gonna have a little trouble seeing the words. Lol. But Definatly in the past couple years newspaper sales have significantly dropped.

Our technology is innovative, and it will affect many sector of our lifestyle. No doubt, many people still prefer the actual book instead of electronic devices. But on other aspect, an electronic device provides fast and convenient way to our life. Especially for our works.

For me, I still prefer the real papers. I read 2 of them each day and check out online news too. Cheers!

Hi kingparker, In the future, I guess it might. But right now, though there is an increasing number, there is still a big majority who prefers real physical books to ebooks. I am one of them. Another thing is that I borrow most of the books I read (partly because I read so many). Unless the library infrastructure gets revamped and copyright issues are sorted out such that library books are all available on kindle, it is unlikely for me to switch totally. Cheers!

I know a lot of newspapers are going out of business because so many people read the newspaper this way, or go online to read the daily headlines. I do that too, although I still enjoy looking through the morning paper as I sit at the table. As far as books though, call me old-fashioned but I don't see myself taking to things like Kindle. I enjoy the feel of a book in my hands and the smell of the pages as I curl up with one for a good read. I can understand how a lot of people find the devices convenient, but I don't see them replacing books.

They could well do,but so far,the technology has yet to become widely accepted..These ebook devices are seen as expensive toys so far, with only limited appeal to the early adopter set..they're not yet mainstream.Perhaps by the time they get cheaper, they'll become more acceptable. It's not that long ago that newspapers were only in black and white, and these devices mostly have only greyscale screens..I think it'll take a colour screen and more versatility for them to become popular..
