Do you think it was right for people to declare 'AVATAR' as racist?

I am trying to figure out wether the people were right for determining the new movie Avatar as racist. I think that all the scenes where the Avatars were in were animated anyway werent they? There point is that all the avatars were African American and that all the "white people" were trying to convert them to "their side"...What is your opinion on this subject?

in what way are blue aliens black people? if we need to relate pure fiction to real life, if anything their nearest real life parallels are Americans, not any nations import to America.

I have to say, much as I enjoyed Avatar, it is sort of Ferngully/Dances with wolves in space

If anything, this was about the Anglo-Saxons trying to convert the Native Americans. Not the white vs black issue. I think there are bigger and better messages in the movie that should be thought about before that one.

I saw the movie I thought the avatar were native? They had a different way of life and followed something the army men or the white people if you will didn't understand. It might have had something to do with race I don't know if they meant for it to be racist ,but now that you point it out. Their was issues with race I think? I enjoyed it ,but the solders in the movie were corrupt I thought and they went too far with destroying the forest and their homes and not wanting Jake to get to involved and what get them to trust him and then turn his back on the avatar then do a way with their home? I think they went a bit far like how real was it?
