Hi evemacy08. Well, since I am a man I might be able to help a bit. Sometimes some men just want people (not just women) to get to the point. You might want to try to be a little more concise if you are not. For example: Husband asks, "Were you able to get that item that was on sale?" Wife might respond, "Well, I had trouble getting the car started at first, and then when I got to the store I saw Ruth. She told me...." So, go this route: "Yes, I got the item. However, when I wanted to leave to get it, the car would not start first." Chances are the husband will then ask about the car. Wordiness is one reason why some of us tune out. However, that can be an indicator we need to be better listeners.
