Mark McGwire recent debacle over finally admitting to use steroids has maybe cleared his conscious but it may not have made him a fan favorite to get more bids for a Hall of Fame lock. Does he deserve to be forgiven for his blatant lies about his steroid use?

He was still a great athlete & broke the record. So, in my opinion..yes. On the contrary though, I think he was stupid for coming out. He's kept it hidden for so long, why did he feel the need to come out with the truth now? Publicity, maybe?

I would say this is a tricky one to answer. McGwire has admitted steriod abuse and I bet you there are already players in the Hall of Fame who used steriods but never admitted to it.

I agree with you on your assessment about Mark McGwire and his present Hall of Fame debacle, and even though he is a part of the Cardinals organization - this may not be enough to get him into the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame.

hi powermannx yes he should he is an excellent player and perhaps had he been inducted into the hall of fame where he really belongs he might not have stooped to steroid use,he is not the only one by a bucketful, so why punish him when they did not come down nearly as hard on some of the others.he deserves it really he does.

Not unless its for acting because he has been acting for so long when tehy asked him about his steroids use ,he passionately claimed he was clean and now he is admitting that he has and even shedding tears .I think he deserves and oscar but he should not be admitted into the baseballs hall of fame.We cannot send a message that its ok to cheat and be rewarded for it

I agree with you 100% on his acting abilities, why shed a tear now when he lied and had the nerve to say that he did not know how he was hitting all of those home runs. Unfortunately Mark McGwire tainted his own career, and his induction into the Hall of Fame, it makes me very sad to see athletes fall to this form of substance abuse..,-God has given each one of us a talent - it is up to us whether to cheat or do things the hard and honest way.

no way! He cheated if you cheated on your spouse i don't think you'd be getting in to anything for sometime. He had the unfair advantage if he does get inducted then it would be an insult to every great player who never even thought of steroids who enjoyed the game and played it fairly so no he shouldn't get in at all
