Should Bill gates give aid in recession?

Considering that he could, should Bill Gates and others like him donate money to create immediate job,,,even perhaps create immediate new industries so people could get to work and slow down an economic downturn as we have experienced? Would a billion from him have helped?

Yeah, but who would it have gone to? Straight to the government so THEY could decide? Yeah! Right!
I don't think she should feel obligated to help. Its his money... why does anyone need to share it.. if you know what I mean. If your neighbors were out of a job but you and your significant other were well off... would you pay their electric bill and buy them groceries every month? Well you should if you have more money then they do?
I honestly don't think any of the bailouts are really going to do that much. I think people have to learn that there's not always a "quick fix". If you over spend or if you don't pay your bills on time.. or don't pay them at all... then YOU need to figure out a way to fix it! And that applies to peoples, governments, companies, anyone.
hell! We pay out the a$$ in taxes and the united states is still how many trillions of dollars in debt? So what the hell does our money go to then and why do they have to keep taking more?

What if he were to set up a new industry or business that utilized a lot of the unemployed? Profit might be low but just think of the push it would give the economy? Yeah, i wouldn't want to share either, but I couldn't stand by either.

But its also a lot more than just money that gets a new company going - its time, its energy its high stress levels.
Why should it be up to him to make up for the government taking too much in money or the credit card companies boosting interest b/c they like too? Its not his problem that the rest of the country is suffering???
I feel the same as you tho... I think I'd do my best to help out.
But you know us americans. If he built a new company in, I don't know... Idaho, the rest of the country would be b!thcing because they didn't get a share....
