"Spirit World ..."

Right after our physical death, our spirit leaves our body and into the spirit world where we will stay waiting for the judgement day. This is what my religion taught me. In the spirit world, it is the same as in the physical world the only thing different is that we have no bodies but purely spirits. We can see our loved ones we have left behind in the physical world but we cannot touch them. In the spirit world, we either continue doing good or continue doing bad. If we do the latter, we go to the spirit prison.

I don't believe that there is a spirit prison. If we do not evolve enough here on earth to reach the next realm then we will be reincarnated back onto earth to learn whatever we need to to be able to move on to the next stage.
From the studies I have done the spirit world in your religion would be considered the Astral Plane. It is the next level after our earthly lives. I've read that our spirit bodies in the astral plane look very similar to our earthly bodies. The next stage in my beliefs is called the Etheric Plane and in that plane our spirit bodies are pure spirit or energy.
