I remember when Myspace was bigger than Facebook, there were certain people who added anyone and everyone who wanted to be their friends whether they knew them or not. It seems now that Facebook is bigger the era of the "Myspace Wh*res" has ended and on Facebook most people only add if they know each other. So how about it? All you Facebooker's out there will you add anyone and everyone or just people you know? What are your reasons for this? Oh and why did everyone do that on Myspace?

"Myspace Wh*res" - LOL now THAT is a funny concept! Kudos to you for that! I couldn't have said it any better myself. I feel like there's a generation gap between Myspacers and Facebookers, to generalize it. I feel like a lot of kids in the 12-16 range tend to meander on MySpace (and for some reason, the younger the person is, the more likely they are to add a bunch of people they don't know..Just to have a higher number of friends and look more 'popular'), whereas I feel like Facebook is geared toward an older crowd, especially college students & adults older than that. There ARE some Facebook wh*res that I've noticed, though, but it seems like MUCH less on Facebook than Myspace. Still, I've had people try to add me who don't even KNOW me (but live in the same area) and I'd take a look at their friends list..And they'd be in the THOUSANDS. I have about 130 people as my friends, and 75% (or better) of them are people I know "in real life", thankyaverymuch.

I won't do that. on both myspace and facebook i only add people i know. i use both sites to keep in touch with family members that live far away. so i post pictures of my family and my kids on there. i don't want any random stranger looking at those pictures. so only people i know are added and my pictures are private. i've known a few people who have done that. i actually just emailed a friend of mine because he had a girl i went to school with on his friends list and as far as i know they dont know each other because he lives in another state. so i emailed him to see if they actually knew each other or if she just added people off my list so she had more friends.
