Before I remember that we had used some herbal plants like origani, guava leaves. I don't like the taste and I don't remember if it was effective just awful taste. Now we have herbal tablets like lagundi tablet. I believe herbal plants is still a good alternative/substitutes if there's no accessible modern medicine.

Yes I'm a registered nurse but I believe on the power of herbal medicines. Lagundi our country is best for people with cough. For me, herbal supplements helps a lot in maintaining health. Sorry for western medicine but for my own point of view, Medicines are chemicals too, with side effects that can be hazardous to our health. But herbal doesn't have over dose. Why? its just like eating apples. How many apples would you eat to kill you?. So natural is better than synthetic. Im using Ganoderma Lucidum as my everyday supplement. In our country, there are ways to earn while maintaining your health thru this herbal things. By the way my country is Philippines and I think ganoderma is being used by 150 countries now a days.

I still grow and use quite a few herbal plants. I use them for adding to recipes, as well as some for medicinal purposes. I grow several varieties of mint, which is good for calming upset tummies. I grow aloe vera, which is wonderful for burns, as well as sun-burn. I use jewel weed to stop the itch from poison ivy. I don't grow that one in my garden though, it grows readily in this swampy area by my woods lol. That's just a few of the herbs I use. My one Dr is a regular MD, but he also specializes in homeopathic medicines, and other alternatives. I do believe that for me, some of his cures have worked far better than conventional medicines. I think that it is important that this kind of 'simple' knowledge should be not lost as the years go on, and that it's often easier on the body.

Herbal plants are good alternatives and are actually the source of some medicines. Herbal plants are much safer because they are simply plain and natural. They are indeed effective.
