Why Are You Religious?

In my previous discussion I raised the issue whether we need any religion at all. And I see most of the people subscribe to the philosophy of religion without caring much about our rational entities well placed and understood as our scientific tempers. But has it really done good in any way whatsoever? Still they say that they are at peace with themselves when they are rapt in religious beliefs. But what are religious beliefs? Are they not nothing but some set of beliefs that have been carrying on since the primordial times just after the evolution of human beings from biological beings to cultural beings and there has not been much change since then - these sets of so-called are all the more prejudiced and superstitious and they are blindly followed and observed - the sum and substance of which is tantamount to sheer nonsense and balderdash and they are the sole refuges of weak and frail minds. And without falling an easy prey, they can't live happily and peacefully! But they are sham peace and happiness! Sure, sham they are. And shamness is the order of civilization. From time immemorial mankind has been following a wild goose chase in the form of religion and godly beliefs. Had it been any good, then the world could have been a heaven of heavens, not a paradise lost. And when you say you are a religious person and religiously follow godly beliefs, it can never be taken for granted that you are honest and a man of virtuous integrity. And when you are not so, then what is the use of your being religious?

Through experience I strongly believe that we do not need religions. I think what we need is spirituality. A lot of the time when people get into religion, they forget about other things in life. They listen to what a man tells them and believes everything he says. We should look deep within ourselves for answers with deep intuition. If we only understand traditions or religions, then we do not understand ourselves. I believe that is what god wants us to do, to become spiritual and understand the remarkable things we are capable of. The problem with religion is that there has been so much war and killings because of it, and too many people try to argue with people about which religion is better than the other. You could say I am religious without having religion. Look to god from answers within, not without.

Some people prefer to be "spiritual" rather than religious. The Catholic church discourages Spirituality because it encourages people to "think for themselves" rather than asking for religious help from a church leader. Religious beliefs are part of the Greatest Scam that was ever perpetrated on mankind. Religion is man-made and has been with us for almost 2000 years. Its sole purpose is to raise money and promote power for the Religious Heirachy. In reading the bible you will find no biblical reference to Religion or Christianity in the early Testaments. The idea of "religion" was hatched in the late writings of the New Testament. It was an idea that caught on in a big way at that time, and has continued even to this day. Its by far and away the Biggest Richest and Wealthiest Scam ever. Only God knows how rich the Christian Churches really are, and She isn't telling!
