Why does everything revolve around money?

Money is everything in this world. Without it, you are at the bottom of the social ladder. I know some of you may disagree with me by saying that family, friends, and love are the most important things in life, but I beg to differ. Even if you have family, friends, and love, you can never be truly happy if you're poor. It's a fact really, that without money, you will go no where.

That's so not true. For me, intellect has opened many new doors and opportunities. I'm not rich, but I can hold my head up in an intelligent conversation and make my voice known with other intelligent people. That way, I've made some interesting new friends and get invited to some great parties. I live in an area where "chavdom" rules, and everyone wants to race about in their souped-up motor-car or buy the latest ipod - they wear bling and every other word is the "f" word because it looks cool. We may be equals financially (usual because they're on benefits) but I know who is the richer overall ... There are people in the UK who have shabby clothes and live on the wrong side of debt. But you listen to what they have to say, and realise that when they leave this mortal plane a part of them will get remembered forever. Their footprints are cast in stone. Anyone who lives solely for money is just dust returning to dust. All they leave behind is a carbon footprint - and that soon gets swept away.

Not that I'd turn down a win on the lottery or anything, mind. I mean, don't get me wrong ...

Money and intelligent go hand in hand. Without either one is doom to a life of poverty. Most everything revolves around money because money is the main tool we use to determine the degree to which something is worth. Until there is another system enacted to determine the worth of something then money will always be "king"....

I won't say that money is the most important thing in the world. Family and all that is important, but when you live alone and have to take care of yourself, then yes money can be very important.
