"And there are seven kings, five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come, and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eight, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition" Revelation 17:10-11 I've been thinking about this for sometimes and surfing the web for some new info regarding this verse. According to my church, Seventh-Day Adventist church, the seven kings are the seven Popes who rule after the Papal inquisition. The current Pope is Benedict XVI, which is said is the seventh king after Pope John Paul 2. John was given the Vision during the reign of Pope John Paul 2, that's why the verse says.... "one is"....... So, Pope Benedict XVI must continue for a short time(he must continue a shor space)............and after this, Satan will impersonate Pope John Paul 2. Well, who else is more effective to deceive the world if it isn't the Pope? So...........how do you guys interpret this verses Revelation 17:10-11??????? Any opinion.........will appreciate them very much..........

Because of the verses in Revelation chapter 13, I believe the first beast (of the chapter) is a 'big' or world beast (or body) - this is verses 1-10; and I believe the second 'little' or seat of man beast (11-18) is an individual or more accurately a certain seat.. and because of what it says in verse 13 that he brings down fire in the sight of people (or did!) that this will be a u.s president as there was that awful new fire in 1945 upon Hiroshima and Nagasaki, after which also men were persuaded to "bebuild" the (world) body which had previously expired... I also believe there are certain signs preceding which will be evident before his being seen, one of which is a more or less global governing.. all the best!
