Hello everyone here Ji,
Today was 13th day rituals conducted for departed soul of my family friend's mother, who breathed last at 1310 hrs on 14-Jan-09. It was a good gathering. Gentleman, who seated by the side of me looked approximately eighty +, a retired Doctor, who served with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (INA) and was part of Red-cross team in those days shared his many experiences. I wa svery much touched, then I named another Lady Doctor, whom I know very well Dr.Laxmi Sahgal, when I told taht She still attends cliic at the age of 96, he told that, She must have been school going when, he was newly passed out Doctor. When further enquired he told taht he retired at teh age of 60 Yrs in 1964, I was in hurry to calculate his age, it was very much surprising taht he is running in 109 yrs of age. I am so lucky to meet such a Old living person. I asked him secret of living, he told me he wants to enjoy life upto last. He is walking and gets little fatigue whikle getting up. God bless everyone of that type of health.
I wish to know , has anyone else met any more persosmore than 100 yrs old. Please share your views with me.

I live in South Florida, affectionately named God's waiting room. Working with the Area agency on Aging, I get to meet a lot of people 100 years old and older. These people all seem to have 2 thing in common, a zest for life and a kind heart. I never tire listening to stories told by these seniors.

Hello my friend teamrose Ji,
I ws in Florida area (Ft. LDR DALE), between Sep-2003 to Apr-2004, I liked that area than any other places in US, when I visited NY/New Jersy, I thought, I was living in my own country and in my place. But Florida area, with full eye sight green grounds like any Golfground are very much natural. Houses are scattered. You have observed very closely, as you get lot of time to be with them.

Oh thats nice.It feels really good to met people who have aged so gracefully.I mean how many of us get to live that long?Actually it is a privilege and honour to be a close relative or a family friend of such gentle souls.My wife's grandpa is nearing hundred.He is 99 now.He is very disciplined and also humorous.Very difficult to find such people in this age.May God bless them with good health for more years.

Oh my, what a ripe old age and a long life...and who knows how much long it will go on?
The oldest person I have met was 100 years old. And still lucid and independent. Amazing.

A grandmother to live so long! How very nice. And the Dr...a very wise man to treat all as simply "human beings." We all feel joy and pain, and no matter where we come from, we all bleed red...human beings, related in that sense.

I cant recall that I met someone more than a century old but I do have a 86 yr old grandaunt. She always pray at night and is very lively. She always call me things like lazy and corrects all my wrongs. Despite her age my grandaunt still cooks my food since I do not know how to cook yet besides noodles and a few easy foods. In the morning she eats rice mixed with energy drink powder instead of putting it in water. She's very strong that I do not know when she would die. Our energy difference could be around 5 to 1 with her the upperhand.

wow...you must be very lucky to have met these centenarians who are still strong and alert. Since they are medical doctors, they must have taken good care of their health and diet very early in life to be able to live that long. People nowadays usually don't live up to 70 due to daily stress and food. Centenarians are in short supply in my place and even if they are, they will be senile and on wheelchairs.

This amazing that a person in his 100 + wants to enjoy life till the end. I have not met personally any one who is beyond 100 but have seen people with 80 + all invalid and life looking like hell as they are sort of burden to the members of the family.

Hey buddy my grand mothers mother is still alive and she is 104 years old.She was born in the year 1905.She speaks well and goes out for a morning walk everyday.She astonishes everybody by singing loudly and sometimes she goes out for jogging.Oh god it really amuses how she is maintaining her health.Minor health complaints are common and apart from that her health is sound.

It is very amazing when you meet such a circle of prestigious and defined people, and see how well to do and capable people can be at any age. It makes you fear aging less, and respect age and wisdom much more. Although it's just a number, the passage of time really is a remarkable thing, and anyone who's witnessed so much of it is due some credit, regardless of their life experiences.
Sad day that must have been, but interesting that it was so amazing as well. I couldn't even imagine living that long, but would be pleased if I do, and even more pleased if the people I care about outlive even that long a life.
I once met 4 survivors of the Holocaust in highschool, and they were very elderly at the time. I think it was in 1996, they were there to educate and spread a message to never forget the past. I got to shake their hands and thank them for everything, and that was a great experience for me that I will always remember and honor.

God bless that person and i hope they live for a long time, but i would hate to live that long... for me that is too old and i bet there is a time when you want to die.
Bu then again it would be cool to grow really old and see how much the world changes. but then again the modern world today as we know it is not a very nice place to live in, that has to be taken into concideration.
