You should wear a money belt with your passport, airline ticket and money in. You should take baggage weighing up to the limit the airline have given you. You should arrive at the airline at least two hours before your flight. As soon as you arrive you should check in your baggage at the airline's check in desk. Then you should exchange currency if necessary. Next you should go through airport security. Then should wait in at the airport lounge next to the gate you will be departing from. Finally when told to do so you will get on the plane and go to your seat. I wish you a happy journey.

Your first international flight! That's exciting! I've done it so many times, it's lost it's charm for me. First thing you need to do is get your ticket. Where are you flying to? You'll need to know visa requirements for that particular country. Which airline are you going to fly? They all have different rules regarding how much luggage you can take, what you can take on the plane with you, how much the luggage weighs, size of the suitcases, etc. Generally speaking, for all international flights you have to arrive at the airport 2 hours before the scheduled take-off time of the flight. That time is needed for checking your luggage, checking paperwork (visa, passport) and things like that. You'll be standing in line a lot! lol. Basically when it's your turn in line to check in for your flight, they'll look at your passport and ticket. You're usually allowed to have 2 bags that the airline will put into the hold of the plane. Those bags have to be screened and then they are put directly onto the plane. When you arrive at your destination, there will be a representative from the airline to tell you where you need to go to pick up your bags. It's really not a very complicated process, although it can be a bit intimidating your first time. First things first. Get your ticket and check on visa requirements. Good luck and happy flying!

No problem! Hope my comments helped. To me, it's very exciting to go to a new place. Should have mentioned, if you're prone to movement sickness you might want to take something along to settle your stomach. Also, sometimes flying over mountains or pressure changes in the plane's cabin may cause your ears to "plug" up. It can be a little uncomfortable. Having some gum to chew on usually takes care of that. The other responder made a good point about having a money belt or something similar to keep your cash & passport in. You need to have your passport with you at all times when traveling internationally. I once took a flight from the U.S. to Argentina where I had a 6 hour layover in Costa Rica. Because the layover was so long, the airline provided us with a city tour that included lunch. It was a great experience until we got back to the airport and I realized I had left my passport inside my carry-on bag! They weren't going to let me back into the departure area! Thank goodness one of my fellow passengers convinced the customs agent to go and get my suitcase so I could show him my passport! It was all fine from there. Just keep it with you at all times. Hope your first experience is a great one!

You should check what you can take through the security check. On many national and international flights you can't take more than one litre of fluid, and it has to be in containers that are 1 dl or less, and all of them have to fit into a sealed plastic bag. So if you bring toothpaste etc on the plane, make sure it is in small travelling sizes else they migth seize it. Happy travels!
