Back in the '80's,"Fort Apache-The Bronx" was in the Cinema, and I went along with a Friend to see it..Although Living in Ireland at the time,He was American Born, and it turned out His Dad had been a Cop based out of the Precinct featured in this Movie, and this was one reason He wanted to see it..So..Are there Any significant movie connections in Your Life,or in the life of Someone YOU know? Thanks for responses!

Lots of movies are filmed around here and I've seen some of them, Outlaw Blues was one that I was saying during the film - "you can't get there from there" and stuff. I was a very extra extra in Varsity Blues, one of the many people cheering at the football games. I was wandering around the outside sets of Heartbreak Hotel, since we were having an SF con in the hotel during the day

Where I live is so out of the way,I'm only aware of ONE Movie that used this Area of Ireland for a location in about the last 10 years, And I don't think it did that well with the public anywhere else..It was called "The Mapmaker"..and I've never even seen it available on DVD since!

Thanks for the Link! The most standout part of the movie for Me was the filmmakers managing to sneak the "Lough Navar" scenic viewpoint here in Fermanagh in for the visual impact..that and seeing a guy getting up and walking out part way through!

After visiting Chicago I always love to see movies set there. It's cool to me (I teach short film making) to see how other director's use images that I have seen. It's interesting how we are all seeing the same things but, differently.

I've yet to visit Chicago myself, but I do like movies that'll show facets of what it's like to be in a place..I saw "The Lake House" a while Back, and liked how Keanu Reeves' Character took Sandra Bullock's Character on an architectural tour of the city, although the pair of them were pretty much just pen pals for most of the Movie!
