I mean, when someone goes to the casino and loses a lot of money.
Everyone will say he is a gambler and he is addicted!
Terrible!!!
He needs help. (They all say this about him, and look down on him.)
But, when this same person goes to the casino and wins a lot of money?
He is everyones best friend,such a good guy!
The smartest man I ever meet.
Get my point here?
I am confused a little here. A gambler that wins is a good guy.
The one that loses is an addict and needs help????

For me whether a gambler wins or not, he's still a gambler and he still needs help. BUt it's annoying how people's opinions can shift from one to the other basing it upon the winning or losing status of someone, or the cash that he earns or loses.
Like my math teacher said, "There is no single good bet in gambling." Everything is a game of chance unless he cheats or develops some sort of gambling sixth sense. But still, it's more up to chance.

A gambler is a gambler. For me, it doesn't follow that you're a good or bad person if you gamble, whether you keep on winning or losing. People who are addicted to gambling (and other vices for that matter) need help, but it doesn't mean that they are bad people.

I agree.
But a gambler is not always addicted.
That is what I mean. When someone gambles and wins all the time, people tend to respect this person.
Where as when this same person does not win and lost money, they label him to be an addict.
To me it is like life itself. When you have enough to give away, everyone loves you.
When you need food or money, all these so called friends are gone.
I know it is a fact of life, I am just trying to understand it.
We people are suppose to be intelligent beings.

I don't like any gambler. So what he won or looses money. I just hate him. I believe a gambler could not be a good person. So for me there is no confusion with gambler.
