Hi mylotters! Good day to everyone! I just came home from work. I feel so exhausted today. I think I need a long vacation leave. My spirit is so down today. I don't know why. Maybe just because of exhaustion. I am handling a group of people that I have to motivate everyday. I am a Supervisor in our company and people think that my job is easy. Actually it is not. What I really don't like about my work is that I always have to look fine and be strong especially when everything else at work is failing. I have to motivate my Team even if me myself is alreadt demotivated. I can't rely on anyone to motivate me. Thus, I have to motivate myself especially there are people relying on me. Sometimes I feel so drained like today. Thank God it's my rest day tomorrow. I need to gain more strength so that whe I'm back to work I will be ready again to motivate my people.

When I feel demotivated,I like to listen to the music or communicate with my best friends.i think you can have a rest and do not think anything for a while to relax yourself.

I wish I could do that right now. Sigh!!! I really miss hanging out with my friends. Well, I already talked to my Manager about me having a vacation leave next week. He agreed. :) Maybe I just really need a break and just like what you said a time to relax. :)

You are a role model to them so you have to act at your best. A leader is the one who leads his people & motivate them even how tired you are.Being Positive influence your people to do their best.Leader is a leader.Rest for a while do your stuff.

Yes you are right and that is the hardest part ( to be a role model). You cannot afford to fail people who look up to you. Sometimes when I would talk to one of my staffs why they were absent or late or why they had this bad attitude towards work they would share to me their personal problems that is affecting their work. I just can't tell them that actually I've been in a situation worst than theirs but I did not let that affect my work because If I did then I would not be in a position where I am at right now. As a part of the Leadership Team you would not want to fail by letting your personla problems affect your work. I can't bring my problems in the office. I always have to look happy to create a good and positive environment and energy to my staffs.

Sometimes I come here. Sometimes I read a book or go to a prompt site if I feel unmotivated. All writers know that sometimes the muse leaves us. The trick is not to let it get you down. Edit a story or go volunteer. Have some real adventures. These are things that will lure the muse back.

Thank you for your encouraging and inspiring words. It really feels good that there are people her in mylot who are ready to listen and even give a piece of advice. That alone is enough to make me feel better. :)

Hey cheer up!! Take some rest and get a good sleep, early then try to see the sun rise in the morning. I'm sure that the weather of early morning will help you a lot!

Hahaha! I feel better now compared to last week. :) That's exactly what I tell myself each time I feel sad or down, "Hey cheer up! Everything will be fine and tomorrow will be a new and better day for you!" Thanks Hubfee!

If I get demotivated, I usually take a little time out, reflect on why I am demotivated in the first place and what I am aiming to achieve, and take it easy until I am back on track again. Or, if it is getting late and I have the chance, I will sleep it off and wake up in the morning feeling re-motivated and refreshed!

Hi MrKennedy! That seems to be a good way to relax and to be re-motivated. Actually, I think one of the reasons I feel demotivated right now is because I really need a long vacation leave. The last time I had one was last September. Eventhough I have two days rest day I still need to go to the office sometimes to do other tasks designated to me. It is my rest day today but I have to drop by in the office because our Manager asked me to do our Business Review Report. Urrrggghhh!!

The best way I use to motivate myself is to speak out.I will tell out whatever I feel to my husband and in a few minutes I will be relaxed and get out of that issue and think what can be done to improvise that.My husband will give suggestions. I think one good way of overcoming this is to speak out what we think. If we pile these issues in our mind then it will be a horrible situation. The other thing I like to do is to hear music of my choice.I really tell you please try this out.It will really work great. It will help your mind get clear and make you think further.

That is actually a good suggestion. Sometimes telling our problems or worries to someone important to us or close to us will make us feel better. I also do that one. I pour out my emotions, anger and even worries to my husband and friends. Though it does not resolve the issue it seems to help lighten the burden.

Hi Ladyslipper, Good day to u also, At the moment u seem to be exhausted. But to keep the morale of yr staff, it is necessary for u to first keep yr morale high. So, take a good rest and tomorrow do those things that rejuvenate u so that u are able to welcome yr next day in office in a happy and cheerful mood.I would suggest that u do little bit of meditation also or simply chant `OM' by sitting comfortably with eyes closed, taking a deep breath, folding yr lips in whistling posture and then make a deep sound of oooooOOO and while coming to long sound of mmmmmmM, close yr lips so that the sound vibrates within yr throat. Do this five time and u will be completely relaxed. Try this and see how easy it is relax yrself.

Hi Vanitasuri! Thank you for your advice. I would definitely try that one. My work is like a toxic. That is the reason I am always looking forward for my rest day. Though it is like a toxic I cannot live my work because it pays me well. :( You know what motivates me to go to work everyday? My good friends in the office. That is why if ever they will leave the company because some of them have intentions of resigning I would really be so sad and might really be demotivated.

hi! i am a supervisor too. im handling people because our manager is not always around. yes its difficult to handle people especially they have different traits. some will follow you instantly while others will be hard headed. but still you need to maintain your composure to the highest level. yes you are right, others might think its an easy job but its not. afterall, if the group fails its you on the front door. you can not just point to someone as the cause of failure because you are responsible for it. you have to choice but to pick up the criticisms and do your best again next time. yes we should always be motivated. i think our family will an enough motivation. but you can get much more motivation by always speaking to God. confide to Him all your fears, your exhaustions, frustations and weaknesses. He will help you go through it everyday.. so when you lose your motivation, pause for a while and whisper a prayer.. God bless.

Hi Shylade! Thanks for your response. It's good to know I'm not alone in this situation. Just like you I also have to do some of the tasks of our Manager that is even if they are around and if they are not around then I have to do all of it. What really drains me is the fact that there are 15 Supervisors in our floor but all of them rely on me. Sometimes I just want to explode in irritation especially when I have to remind them of their tasks. When the Manager is not around I just don't need to handle my people but I also have to handle all the Supervisors. Well, my immediate Manager is my very close friend. We were already very close friends before he became a Manager. Actually, he also used to be my Supervisor. He is my mentor. I understand that he just wants me to learn everyhting about the business since he wants me to grow. Sometimes I tell him I'm so tired and exhausted. He would then ask me if I want to have long vacation leave. Most of the time I would say No just give me at least one day leave. Why? Because there are 4 Managers in our Department but he is doing all the tasks. Soemtimes he would tell me how he feels so drained and tired. That is the reason I can't leave him alone. Soemtimes I would tell him, "You know what how about we try one day to be incompetent?" Ten he would laugh and tell me, "As if you can!" Yeah! I can't! No matter how tired I am I would always be competitive in everything I do just like him. Anyways, he is gay that is why we are very close to each other. Thank you for sharing your thoughts to me and also for the advice! :)

That is a problem that I commonly have. I get so tired and demotivated from work but I have to act lively and motivated when it comes to my kids. I have to convince them that working is something that they have to look forward to and be positive all the time even when in reality, I would prefer to slack off.
