Ok so I was looking on craigslist today under the free section and I seen a couple different adds were people were giving away the left overs from their garage sale. I live in Iowa people, it's winter and it's freezing cold! Why on earth would you have a garage sale? Or even the other way around why would you go to a garage sale in this weather! It's been snowing and windy and FREEZING! Have you ever had a garage sale in the winter, if you have do they turn out good or is it a waste of time and energy? Have you ever gone to one in the winter? I think it's plain crazy! What about you

I can't imagine it either. Since I live in Minnesota and don't have a garage to have one it I would have to build a snow house on the corner to put my things out....and it's way too cold out for that!

I was born and raised in MN so I hear you there it is way colder wind wise there than here! I would never have thought to have one in the winter till I read it on craigslist.

I won't go outside in the winter unless it's absolutely necessary! This year, especially, has been very cold. I've meandered out on our deck when the temperature got up into the upper 40's or 50's, but if it's any colder than that, it can stay there and I'll stay inside, where it's warm. I would think it would be foolish to even try to have a garage sale in freezing weather! I can't imagine that much would get sold. Some people would be brave enough, I'm sure, but I don't know anyone like that. However, it could be that these people holding the sales are desperate. With the economy being so bad, people losing jobs, houses being foreclosed on, they may be trying desperately to make at least a little money to move with. You really don't know their story.

You are very right, we don't know there stories. I never thought of that could possibly be the reason.
