I got several calls this morning from this number 213 239 2898. When I picked up the phone, they hang-up on me when I say hello. I searched this number online and then found that many ppl are annoyed by the calling of this number. Next time if you got its call, make sure you should ask them to take your number off their list.

If you are having trouble with this phone number one thing that you can do is call your phone providers. Tell them that you have been trying to ask these people to take you off their call list and you haven't been able to do so. Tell them that it has now become harassment and that you would like to have the number blocked. I know that I have had to do this to several numbers in the past and I only had to pay 2 extra dollars a month in order to have it blocked. I hope that helps and that you don't have to continue getting these annoying calls. Happy mylotting.

Thank you, Crivas. Since this is the 1st day they called, I will try to wait a few days to see if they stop calling. If they don't, I will try your method. Thank you so much!

I'm wondering why they don't let us block numbers through our phones.

This appears to be a big nuisance caller. There are MANY reports all over the Internet saying that this number makes calls multiple tiles a day. I have experienced calls like this (but not from this number - I'm not in the US). The area code is Los Angeles, CA and, as you say, there are many reports of nuisance calls from this number. Just a quick search turned up these pages: http://www.callferret.com/213-239-2898.html/2 . and: http://www.numberinvestigator.com/213239 . and: http://whocalled.us/lookup/2132392898 . (It seems to be a company calling itself "Global Research International". It does not appear to be anything to do with Globalreach International, however. They have a disclaimer on their Contacts page). I have heard that these calls are often made by (or for) certain cold-calling marketers. If the caller simply hangs up when you answer, the object of the call may be simply to see whether the number called is active and if they call multiple times a day then I gather that it may be to check at what times of the day there is likely to be someone answering that number.

I think I've seen that number before. I've cleared out my call list since then. Depending on your phone, and service provider, it is sometimes possible to block indivual numbers from your handset usually at no cost to you. I had a phone where I could do that. It sounds to be what I like to call a robot number. A number generated by a computer, to show up on someone's caller I.D. It can't be called back, and generally if answered no one is actually on the other line. Quite often when I see those, I let it go to voicemail. If its computerized it'll give up before reaching a recording.
