Today I would like to start a discussion on the music of the past. I'm talking of the music of the 60's, the 70's, 80's and 90's. Compairing to the music of today my opinion is that the music of that decades were better music. The title version times were much shorter and was to the point. The chorusses wasn't repeated endlessly like now. There wasn't a lot of remixes and most of the music was original content. Today there are various rap artists and remixes. There are not a lot of original content now. What is in your opinion the better music.

~ Hi! first I want to greet you about the discussion you have started! The retro music is my favorite and I not just like to listen to it, I love to listen to it! The present music is so commercial and disgusting, that there are only several songs every year that really deserve to be listen to! But the retro music, the music from the 70's, 80's and the 90's is something different and special! It turned so commercial after the 2000, when the new millenium has began! My favorite retro group are Nana, C-block, Ace of base and many other. I always search for some retro song and when I find some good one, I also search in youtube for its video!~ ~P.S. So thanks again for the wonderful discussion, and I hope you like my answer!~

My favorite is the 80's music. A lot of nu-wave. That was when the time I left for college and started living for myself. So, a lot of times, when I hear a particular 80's tune, I would distinctly remember that part of my life and what I was doing.

I agree with you. I've got married in 1988 and I can remember some of the songs in that year. For instance there was a couple of songs from Belinda Carlisle

I grew up in the 90's. The music was really pop, and the rap had cleaner lyrics.

I was born in '86 and since then my mother always exposed me with songs from the '80s and then I grow up listening to songs from the 90's. However, starting the millenium year, I don't really listen to English songs, because of the too-rated lyrics, and the music are not as original and smooth like the early years. Back in 70's and 80's we hardly listen to two song with almost similar music, but today, you can have two or three songs with the similat styles and that shows the loss of originality in music arrangement. However, there are still some music that is good and can beaccepted but somehow, we need to search for it, because they're not really commercialized like today's US rap and pop music.
