Have you heard the saying, boy chases girl, until “she catches him?” In Australia in the sixties, at least, you would hear this expression over and over. It means girls usually trapped boys, bit without looking like the predator. I’m wondering if this is still the case today. What is the situation in your country? For boys, Is there a girl trying to trap you? For girls, are you planning to catch a boyfriend?

I sure hope not, because she'll be sadly disappointed. I can think of, thankfully, only two girls that tried, and both failed.

HI ANDY, ARE YOU SAYING BOYS ARE BETTER AT SELECTING A PARTNER THAN GIRLS? Interesting.

Not in general. Of course trying to select me, indicates an inability. But no. I 'm just saying I'm not interested. So if there is some poor girl out there trying to chase me down, she's wasting a lot of time for nothing.

Hi ann, maybe times have changed, and with chatting and emails, etc a lot of the shyness has been elimated from the dating scene. I ange a date without speaking mean, you can now even arrange a date without speaaking. In my time that was called a blind date, and was arranged by a third party. Thanks for the input, ann.

Hi mipen, I live in California. So I see people from almost all nations here. But it is really hard to say whether they all follow the same pattern of chasing and trapping. So far what I have seen here is that girls are extremely fast. And this includes girls of majority of the countries. They are extremely good at flirting. So it is usually seen that the women are trying to chase the guys. Stealing a man from another woman is very common in California. So even the wives sometimes live in fear. But I suppose in other parts of America men take the lead in chasing. And there is a possibility that it happens this way because when a man chases a woman he is known as "confident". But nah, I am done looking for a boyfriend because I have one now. I was always shy and so I did not have the courage to go do the chasing. It is good that things between us happened because we simply liked each other and then did the mutual confessing.

I think you have summed it up very well, and as it seemed to be when I was young. Of course there will be the shy ones, like me, who don't chase as hard as the confident ones. Thanks for the response.
