I gave up nearly twenty years ago, by convincing myself that all I needed to give up was one cigarette, the first one. That worked for me, so get your parents to try. Depression is a disease, and that's what you describe here. I used to suffer this when I drank alcohol, but since I stopped, my life is more worthwhile. I also like to help people, and get a great lift when I do. In my opinion we often set ourselves an unrealistic goal. I find if you have one of these, iy's a good and realistic goal to set stepping stone goals along the way. |
