 I believe reading books is even more important than in the past. Although times are changing rapidly, learning to read is still a most important skill, and who knows when your Internet may not be available, like mine for the past ten days, there are always books around to pass the time. |

 This is interesting, I have just had an experience, with a government department, where I had made two unanswered email requests for information, so I sent them a snail mail. This was answered within ten days. Now, two weeks later, still no email response. I think this could happen more often in a world where someong gets hundreds of electronic requests to one postal one. |

 Hi astonysh, and congratulations. I'm presently "serving" two years in Australia, in order to get my pension paid in Thailand, where I want to spend my remaining years, but I don't think I can become a resident, as that will affect payment of my Australian pension. I am able to return to Thailand on December 15, next year, and that can't come quick enough. Good luck to you and your wife. |

 A very interesting and thought provoking post rjvb. I didn't believe in spirits until I saw a shadow on a wall moving behind me. It was not an illusion, and there was no logical explanation for it. Since then some mysterious things have happened. |

 You're right. I never was taught about dashes in school, and have no idea when they were accepted as punctuation marks. I only use them when I am introducing a non-relevant phrase. For example, 'a man - wearing a purple shirt - was seen near the crime scene.' |
