Making money with traffic exchanges?

I dont mean getting paid to surf the adds in traffic exchanges,but was wondering if there are members in MY Lot who use Traffic Exchanges to promote or advertise their online money programs and how successful they have been in getting conversions from the free advertising,There are so many traffic exchanges to choose from to join n use for advertising your blog or website or affiliate site etc. Can anyone in My Lot vouch for the effectiveness of using Traffic exchanges as a free advertising or simply waste of time when you have to surf hours to build credits to advertise your own sites..

Self promoting by link exchange is not very effective for me. Social bookmarking use to work very well, but when this pool gets really saturated, traffic gets lesser.
Well, now I rely mostly on SEO to help get more traffic. I call it natural traffic which is more effective and less labour intensive. The trade off is that the posts you made on the websites or blogs must be really good and have substantial standard.

I used to do Traffic Exchanges and what I learned is that they're only good for recruiting people to any program you've joined. Unfortunately, I never was able to sell anything. The people who are in the exchanges are also people like you trying to sell their program. I can say I wasted a lot of time doing that.

I highly recommend easyhits4u. You surf for credits and at the same time cash. Once you've surfed 1000 sites you'll earn $0.30 and min pay is $3. Also if your referral surf at least 100 sites in 1 day you'll get $0.10.

well i've been using traffic exchange for 2 years now , just for promoting a site that i also already earn from using the free creadit from my traffic exchange . And what make me really happy is tha i earn in both way , surfing in traffic exchange and commission from promoting site . Seems like double earning for me then ^^ .
