I have a 4 year old and a 19 month old. I notice if my 4 year old goes to bed any later than 8:00 she has a hard time waking up for preschool. How old are your kids and what time do they go to bed?

I think it depends on the age structure. Most of children they need full sleep, but some children they sleep early in the night and wake up quite in the morning. From the health side children need 9 to 10 hours to sleep and it is good for their health.

Hi there I have 5 children, 3 girls ages 14, 9, and 23 months, and 2 boys ages 8, and 6. When they were younger and weren't in school they would go to bed at 7:30pm, and typically wake 12 hours later. Nowadays, on school nights i try and have the 6, 8, and 9 year old in bed by 9pm, and they wake at 7. It's hard because they don't get of off the school bus until 4:30pm, and by the time they do homework, have dinner, and take showers, it's time for story, and then bed.

You should train you 4 year old to go to bed earlier so that she will wake up early for school try to set rules for her. As far as I can remember my parents set rules in the house like I am not allowed to watch t.v. during weekdays only on weekends I have to sleep early so that I will not be late for school the following day. They tend to let me do my assignment & projects on my own. I like they way they did it to me it helps me to decide things on my own.

My 3 kids sleep at 8:00 PM as well. They need to have longer time to rest to keep up with the ever challenging world.

My son just turns 2 last january. He sleeps at 9pm and wakes up at 7:30 am before I go to work. I always check him up every time I got home at 10pm whether he sleeps in the afternoon, yes he did. It's always been my concern, the right and enough sleeps.

my one year old often sleeps at around 8-830pm and wakes up at 6-7am,my two year old sleeps at 9 and wakes up at 7-730am. its how long they sleep that matters,as long as they have 8-10 hours of sleep, thats OK. but if they need to wake up early, you should put them to sleep early too..

We aren't really traditional when it comes to bed time for our children. My children are seven years old and three years old. They go to bed at ten in the evening. The reason that we choose a later bed time for our children is because their father works late into the evening and I want them to be able to spend time with their dad before they have to go to bed. Additionally, my son decided just after his second birthday that he no longer wanted to take naps so he sleeps later in the morning. We stay at home during the day.

From the medicial technology, children need 10 hours sleeping for a day.If they have a enough time to sleeping It will be good for their health.I think 8 0r 9 PM to get to the bed is okay.anyway, keep them have a 10 hours sleeping for a day.

yes, requirement for them is 10 hour sleep and they can comply this with a nap in the afternoon. I tried sending my girl (she was 2 1/2 then)to school but she was stressed out. Now she is at home enjoying her toddler life.

I have a 2 year old and he goes to sleep around 9. He will wake up around 5am when my husband gets up for PT and then he is back to sleep. Then he gets up for he day around 8am. He doesnt really takes naps but he sleeps through the night; which is a relief for me!
