I am Not Getting Enough Responses In myLot. Oh Why?

I am just 2 weeks young here in myLot. I remember my first time to post a discussion, I received a lot of responses, 45 responses to be exact. I was greatly impressed by that. Big hits on the first post! But after that I got so frustrated. I am receiving only few responses. I keep on thinking, the topics I posted might not be appealing to them. Or they just don't feel responding to me. I've been thinking of a good topic after seeing the results of last week's performance. Though most of the time, I like posting discussions to answer my questions about a thing that I need to know. Well, I bet this discussion would have only few resonses maybe 1 or 2 or nothing at all! lol

I've already said this in a previous mylotter.. In my three years of experience mylotting I have come up with my own ways to get more responses. Though I still have crappy ones, SOMETIMES it's not all about your kind of discussion. Sometimes there are many other factors why you don't get a lot of discussion. 1. You should have a catchy avatar, so that people will notice you easily among the list of discussions. Besides that you should have a good question, you should make a way for people to catch you easily.. and that is by placing a really nice avatar. :) 2. (This is my most recent way to get a lot of response) Your questions should not be so hard, not that philosophical... something that is universal, and has to do with day-to-day experiences.. Since most mylotters are up to their goals to reach a certain number of discussions responded per day, they'll most likely pick the easiest and most common sense question. :) It's up for you to think what discussion fits the kind which has something to do with day-to-day experiences of people. ;) 3. Next, creating discussions should have a perfect timing. Look at the mylot population and figure out which country has the most mylotters. If I'm not mistaken I think it is the US so try creating discussions on their most convenient time and leave it all that.. when you woke up the next day, you'll be very surprised at how many discussions you got just overnight. I tried this before and it worked well for me. 4. Despite your busy schedule, always find time to respond back to comments on your discussions :) Just say "thank you" so that they'll remember you easily. :) Besides it's a way of showing you appreciate them responding back to their comments :) Take care and God bless :)

Oh I forgot. You should also add more friends.. just ADD add and add. There's no way you should reject them. The more friends, the more exposure for your discussions. :)

I would rate this as a best response! Cecille is right and thank you for the tips. Just add friends so that many people will notice you. If they spam on you just block their message.

Hello cecille! Thanks a lot for sharing your opinions. That was really informative and useful. I will use the approaches you said here. 2 and 3 approaches are somewhat new to me. So I'm glad you mentioned about it. Thanks again! =)

Because sometimes, we throw the discussion into a forum has been discussed by others, and also we do not know, when we open the discussion draws attention to be discussed by friends on myLot and respond to these discussions. We are sometimes difficult to pour what we think in a writing, which eventually became the subject of a discussion strayed far from what we expect from these discussions, which in turn can only be limited to meaningless chatter between friends. Therefore, I prefer to respond to a discussion rather than open a discussion, as I responded to your discussion of this, right?

Yeah you are right, Haryosasongko! Responding is better than openning up a discussion. And indeed, I have more responses than the discussions. You got it right! =D

hi there summer.. ive been for only a months a just reach my 100th post. dont think that they dont like responding on you. its really on the topic we posted here. sometimes in post only a 3 line discussion but thats the more response i got. and also be a friend of some member here.. try to add some people who did a response from your own discussion then do something in return to them also response on their discussion. and because of this they might turn on the notification on your name and they know everytime you post a discussion.

so, you have me as another number, summer. but, truly, responses depend on a lot of things. the topic didn't attract many to respond because of certain preferences or simply because they don't have anything to say about it. also, it's not always true that great topics, get good responses. sometimes, there are a lot of things going that affect the numbers and influence the psyche of people, in responding to situations, even topics in mylot...

that's it, summer. i am happy, i made you happy... i hope to see more of your posts and responses and try to respond to you... try visiting my site at http://pinoygnews.multiply.com/ and get some nice feeling reading about something good in the philippines....

Part of the issue is that sometimes discussions just aren't appealing to everyone, and so you will only get a few responses. Other times you post a discussion and so many other discussions get posted in the same interest shortly after that yours disappears down the list and out of sight before you know it. But to counter act this is to just get out there and start responding to other discussions. If you leave an interesting response to someone elses discussion or more importantly get into an ongoing discussion with responses going to and thro, you are more likely to get people visiting your profile and responding to your discussions. In a way it's a bit like a primative form of networking, post a discussion which has mass appeal and then get out there and start getting your name seen so it attracts people back.

Add more and more friends. It helps. They see threads you made and respond to those threads first. It may be due to topic itself.I have observe people respond topics such as love friendship more as it a matter of common knowledge. So start topic where everyone regardless of their back gound can respond.Best luck!!

hello summer, Don't worry,it won't affect your earnings anyway. The number of responses will not give you earnings...so nothing to worry about it. besides...sometimes the timing is one reason for not receiving much responses with our topics. Also...the kind of topic matters the most also. Keep mylotting and enjoy it here my friend

...Hi there summer77, Welcome to the ranch, if I haven't said so before, enjoy. Well, congratulations on your discussion which garnered you so many responses. What that did, though it was a good thing, was to spoil you, by allowing you to think that all your discussions would do the same. Then you were disappointed when they didn't. If is impossible to determine which subject will grab the attention of the group, so you just need to keep putting up topics which you feel will be interesting, which I am sure you are doing. One thing for sure, it takes a long time to respond to each person who participates in your discussion. So sometimes it is good to get a break from so many answers back, so that you can respond to other people's discussions. That's the good thing about the diversity of the site. Take care.

You do? Now it makes clear, I'm not only the one who is experiencing this. So I can conclude, no matter how long you have been myLotting and whatever level you have, responses fluctuates from time to time. Anyways, I think you are older than me here for you have posted 106 already. BTW, thanks for your response.

The number by the side of you is 65 it indicate that you are new. Secondly before my response you have earn 21 response. It is the a small number of responses. Being a new one you have earn 21 response... it indicants that you get sufficient response. More over that the response is depend on the interest of the users. If user find interest in your discussion they must respond you. And how you react to other discussion is also effect in the matter. So I think you will get more and more response in coming days.

Hello Aaleexix! We are both newbies, right? Give me five! lol. Though you have larger number of posts. Well, if you look at the other discussions of mine in my profile, you'll see how bad mostly were my performances. This one can be considered a good performance, and I did not expect that. Thanks for your response. Happy myLotting! =)

You only respond to 65 discussions, but you start 20...the ratio is the problem. Who do you want to come to your discussion? I was reading responds to your topic, but nobody say that. You have to respond to at least 20-25 discussions before you start one. Giving is receiving. Asking for friendship is not enough. Before you ask anyone to be your friend, make sure to respond to at least one discussion made by that person. People usually respond to friends discussion first, but they avoid people who start too many discussions and never respond to theirs.

Hello Pola! I got your point, give and receive. Well, actually, I made more responses than the discussions. So it might be the discussion subject isn't good or appealing enough. Er, okay, 20-25 responses first before posting discussions; that's pretty good idea, maybe I can make it 10-15 responses and then discussions. Thanks a lot for your response and opinion. =D

maybe because of the discussion you post is already a topic last month, or last year ago that is why they don't respond to it anymore.

That is not true:), you got 10 response before mine response and that is good. Not necessarly the number would be very high for every discussion, I response to the old discussions as well many times so same can happen to my response as well. So do not expect very fast responses, there would be responses to the discussion for sure may not be a century. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst :)
