Are your Christmas lights still up?

What about other decorations? Have you put all of your Christmas decorations away, or do you have some still up whether outside or in the house? I passed a house today that still had quite a few decorations out. I know it has been cold, and thought maybe that was the cause. But perhaps, they just enjoy having the decorations out to look at. As a matter of fact, they even still had a Christmas wreath on their door. When was the latest that you have ever taken down your Christmas tree or other decorations?

Hiya kykidd, All the Decorations were down ages ago much to my dismay but there you go I live for the illusion of taking them all out again and putting them around the House. Not as long as what you think till Christmas. I have seen a House with the Christmas Tree still on it´s a really nice one so maybe they don´t want to put it away just yet.

I hear ya, and understand exactly what you are saying. The one that I had seen, which started this discussion, was in a really expensive neighborhood as well. I don't see anything wrong with keeping up Christmas decorations. To each their own!

Great positive attitude that you have towards these decorations. I was just throwing this discussion out there to see how everyone would respond....I love it. Everyone has had such a positive attitude. That's one of the reasons that I love myLot~!

Hiya kykidd, Perhaps they get some comfort out of it seeing the lights and all that like for some it maybe a Teddy Bear hidden out of sight so no one sees it or something else for this person it could be that Christmas Tree and it´s very pretty lights it could be a cure for their blues state of mind too. Who knows?

Nope, but my neighbors are. I don't mean lights turned off and just remaining strung to save the trouble of putting them up again next year... I mean those huge, bold and bright, rainbow colored things. All over the yard. They're actually beautiful reflecting off of the recent snowfall, but I can't help but giggle and feel a little silly every time that I see them on at night!

Hey there Zoey, and thank you for your response in this discussion. I guess if we get a kick out of these things, then the neighbors are doing their job by keeping us happy. LOL I know it's been a while since your response, sorry it took me so long. Things have just been really hectic. Thanks again, and have a wonderful day!

That is pretty unusual to have the lights still lit, especially this late in the year. I guess they just really enjoy them.....LOL Either that, or they don't know what to do with their money so they like donating it to the electric company. 8) Oh no, now I'm being ornery. It really is good to know that there are people who can stay in the good holiday spirit all year round.

Well here it is March 14th... Their lights are still up. AND on. Last year I think that they left them up and on until April Fool's Day. I wonder if they're going for a new world record?!

I still have my Christmas decorations up outside. I like to leave them up and turn them on when we get some snow. We hardly ever have any by Christmastime so we leave ours up for the winter season because they are pretty when they are lit up in the snow. I have taken all of them down inside the house though. I take those down the day after the new year starts. The latest I have left my outdoor Christmas lights up, was by the end of February.

I'm not sure how long I have left my Christmas lights up outside. I used to decorate the outside of my house every year, but haven't had a chance to that in a long time. But, we usually got a break in the weather and I would take them down. Though, there was one year I wasn't in the best of spirits, and I left my Christmas tree up until the second week of February. I didn't even put my tree up that year. My mom came up, and put it up while I was at work. I finally got up the energy to take it down after a few months. Glad I am not in that state of mind anymore!

All of our indoor lights and Christmas tree and decorations are down waiting for next Thanksgiving to go back up again. We took our tree down later this year than usual just because we wanted to and our son enjoyed looking at it.

I know a lot of people who ended up keeping their trees up later this year. I'm not sure if it is because of the day of the week that the holiday fell, or what it was. We did get quite the storm this year on New Year's Day. So perhaps the reason they would have left their outdoor decorations up was because of that.

It's just to cold to take down outdoor lights right at this time and we wait till about March or April of evry year to take down outside lights. The bigger decorations do come in and are put away but the lights are not on anymore and it's not hurting them staying up until the weather gets warm.

It is definitely too cold right now to be outside trying to take down Christmas lights. We are expecting more snow this week, just about the time the other is almost melted. LOL

WEll I really did not have a whole lot up this year. Just a little tree and I took it down the day of Christmas. I dont have the money to pay for a higher electric bill so it really had to come down. Not only that but my cats kept knocking it down so there was no real reason to keep it up. Take care and happy mylotting to you.

Oh my goodness, I think the cats were a good enough reason to take the tree down. They can find themselves quite comfortable, while destroying your tree. Glad to hear you have yours taken down already. Happy myLotting to you as well!
