Another musical loss

Sir John Dankworth died Saturday February 6, 2010, at the age of 82. Who the heck was he? you might ask. Well, besides being a jazz saxophonist, and besides being married to Cleo Laine (another jazz great), he was the guy who wrote the fabulous theme music for The Avengers.

I always liked that theme song but didn't know who wrote it. My husband & I used to watch the Avengers all the time. I guess there aren't too many of us around who used to watch the show or remember it, LOL.

He was a great. I am no fan of hers though. Dreadful singer who can't hold a tune. But then again, wasn't that what jazz in the 50s and 60s was all about!
