My handwriting isn't the greatest. However, when I use a gel pen, it looks better to me. The diameter of the pen also makes a difference. The size of the barrel of the pen determine how you hold it, thus affecting penmanship.

My handwriting rarely differed depending on what kind of writing instrument I used. It was not the most legible thing in the world no matter what I did. That is why I did a lot of my assignments typed up. By the time I got to high school, the teachers did encourage that for most of us. It was a lot easier for them to read, I believe. Still, the type of writing tool does not affect handwriting, at least not for me.

so do you say that there is no effect of grip or the type of ink that is used?

i believe that there are pens that makes your handwriting look good. it doesnt necessarily have to be an expensive one. but you have to know what kind of pen suits you. also the grip. the handle can be thick, thin, and the ink can also be thick or thin.. as long as you are satisfied with your choice.

Hi, ramaswamyvtkv. Yes, I think that the type of pen that you use does play a big part on how your handwriting will appear. When I use a certain pen that is weak in holding, it will not allow me to write faster and easily as I would. I like to use Bic, Papermate and Rentech pens. These pens write really well.

Naah! I do not think so! I am a pen spinner and I have bought a variety of pens for my spinning! Eventually, I spin them only after writing and completing the ink in each of them! I use Uniball, Hero, Pentel, Nataraj, Pilot, Zebra, Bic, Papermate, Reynolds and many more , but my handwriting remains same!

Sure the pen affects the penmanship. It has nothing to do with the brand though. I mean, not directly. In my case, I find that depending on the width and weight of the pen, my handwriting can appear different. I suppose it could be a matter of what your friend is used to. But yeah, I think pens do have an effect on how your writing turns out.

Yes, the pen you use can indeed effect your handwriting. There isn't a doubt in my mind about that. Why else do you have rubber grips that are made for pens and pencils? The feel will eigher maker you tighten or loosen your grip, which can also effect your speed.
