Chinese spring festival is coming.do you know something about it?

In china,spring festival is the most important festival.just like Christmas in west world.it's a happy period.usually all family members would gather together to enjoy the moment.we would have a big meal ,watch excellent programes of CCTV.there are other important things.how much do you know about this?

we are waiting for the "Chinese Santa Clause" to bring Hongbao to us ;) by the way i don't think cctv's chunwan excellent,but it's already been a custom just like eating dumpling=)

Here we call it chinese new year and it is being recognized by our government and a two days public holidays has been accorded for the nation to celebrate this most auspicious occasion celebrated by all those who have Wongs, chins etc.. behind their names. We join in the celebrations by visiting our Chinese friends to usher the new year in their homes. The dragon dances will be making their rounds to make this celebration more merrier. Not forgetting red packets will be given out freely to the young and old. I wish all Chinese a very Happy Chinese New year and 'Kong xie Fatt chai'.
